In poker tournament 5k for first 9 people left 2nd in chips. ‪#‎Timewarnercable‬ ‪#‎TWC‬ decided to do maintenance completely UNANNOUNCED. I run out of chips while not being able to play and bust in 5th place for $1200. Never in my life have I been livid while making money. I feel cheated out of $3800. No guarantee I would have won, but I was in a really good position to. #TWC is the worst ISP bar none.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I just happen to play on WPN and want everyone who has TWC change plans before this **** happens to them

I feel you pain man. My ISP Charter had a stretch several months back where my internet dropped around 12-2am for anywhere between 30-90 mins.(Happened 5+ times over a 2 month period) I remember one time I was deep and had to grab my laptop, and drive around to find some free wifi in the early AM hours. It sucks!

That's why I play cash games 99% of the time. Way to many things can go wrong. Also you could post here.

That's pretty unlucky. $1200 is a great score though so you can't be too mad I suppose. You laddered a few times.

TS you are close to where I live I assume.

I switched to FIOS and best decision ever. Do the same. Keep TW for TV and get Verizon's entry level 50/50 Internet. Faster than any TW speeds and same price.

Would have hopped in my car and gone to Starbucks with the quickness... hindsight is 20/20 though... tough beat

Call up TWC and get a discount or something and tell them that you needed internet to be working. Also you should consider getting a phone that can broadcast a signal then you can use your phone internet as a backup.

Get a second Internet connection. ISPs seldom sync their maintenances; if one of the ISPs goes down, the other will usually continue service.
