SNGs "Terminated By The Operator" SNGs "Terminated By The Operator"

03-03-2014 , 09:45 PM
Today I had 2 SNGs closed in progress by "the operator" - I assume that's WPN.

BUT...... I and the remaining players were each refunded their entry fee. In 1 case there were 6 of the original 9 players remaining. In the other there were 5 of the original 9 players remaining.

All of the remaining players had an increased equity in those games by virtue of the players already eliminated.... but in effect the site confiscated that added equity - they pocketed the money as their own added profit even though they are the ones who caused the table to be closed.

Seems pretty dishonest and/or unethical IMO.

Are you sure the players who were knocked out didn't also receive refunds? Players should be paid on an equity basis though even though it is just a sitngo.

To jump to the conclusion that the other players who were knocked out didnt receive any money back is a bit harsh as i will keep saying it. We dont keep or steal money. But if you would be so kind to tell me the tourney id numbers that would be great and i will investigate. You are correct when you say that you should not only receive your buy in you should receive more according to stack sizes.

Given that the SNGs were ended in progress there does not appear to be ANY record of them now. I can't even confirm that I ever received my buyin back! My "tournament history" provided by BCP/WPN for yesterday does not show any games where I broke even (meaning I was refunded the entry fees) or won some odd amount (meaning that I was awarded a proportionate share).

The statement shown by "the operator" (WPN) when the tables were closed specifically stated that entry fees of remaining players were being refunded.

Considering that the message was addressed solely to the remaining players, it doesn't necessarily rule out that the other players would be refunded as well.

Ok so please let me know roughly what time and what type. I have asked customer services and they have no complaints. I have searched my reports and i cant find any sng's that were cancelled. I understand this is not your fault but i would really like to make sure everything was refunded correctly.

They were both yesterday between 11AM and 2PM pacific time.

I can't be certain as to which 2 specifically were closed - I had 4-5 running at that time. They would have been Regular (non turbo) 9 Max for $5, $10, or $15 buyins plus fees.

Some players at other tables reported their screens froze at about that same time if that helps.

and I repeat - my transaction history on the site does not show any SNGs yesterday that I earned the same amount as I bought in (ie a refund of the buyin).... nor any where the payout was some odd amount (reflecting a proportional share of the prize pool).

Ok please PM me your nickname i will search the transaction history etc. Thank you

If you use HM or PT maybe you can check those to help you narrow down the time.

Damn, Winning_TD said he was arranging for me to get the compensation on this issue.... and he's been AWOL ever since.

Every time I've been in a sit and go that was terminated by operator, I've only received the buy in back

Sapper - the official line from WPN is that all the active players should receive a share of the prize pool based on stack size (but with a minimum of the buyin).

In my case they cannot even determine that my buyins were refunded & nothing shows up in my Transactions, Rewards, etc.

Is that for SNGs and MTTs?

Wow. they covered their tracks pretty well too....lol. Do this a few times a day and everyone's happy....the four players who were eliminated figure they were eliminated so they don't get their buy-ins back and don't complain about it.....the five players who are left only get their buy-ins back and really can't complain too much since there were still 5 players left. that means the company just made 4xbuy-in by simply cutting the tourney short. And when a player wishes to complain well, that tourney is not in his history so he can not really file a formal complaint by saying "its the tourney before that other tourney i played were I made 3rd place" LOL.....

Sounds EXTREMELY SHADY to me. This is assuming, of course that the eliminated players did not, in fact, get their buy-ins back. Since the tourney simply POOFED and disappeared from existence, one wouldn't even know who the players were in order to find out if they did in fact get their buy-ins back (unless you run pokertrackersoftware or some other HUD which documented this particlar game). But even if you did run a hud during that game, you would not be able to contact those players directly anyways unless you hunted them down by observing games they were playing and chatted them up during their game play.

I smell A RAT....

Just my opinion but if I'm at a table and get knocked out, I'm out no matter what happened. If the game ends and there are still people left, the "total" prize pool should be split between them.

No way should the site keep any money(not saying they did) and no way shoule a knocked out person get their entry back, they lost.
