Re: Confessions of a botter. Re: Confessions of a botter.

Any updates from winning_TD on this? Originally i thought 10-15% seemed like a high guess. But after seeing that wpn uses a few of the botting sites as affiliates, im surprised its not higher.

Gratz to the Security Department of WPN Network, wonderful job you have done keeping the integrity high for online poker. This guy who has made 30k in profits in 50nl and 100nl games was american, which to me is shocking. Having played on ACR I always thought the US guys are the legit ones and the eastern euros are the botters. Absolutely shocking. Imo the numbers of bots in 25nl and 50nl is higher than 10%. Such a shame!

As someone who plays on multiple sites it's frustrating to see these reactions. All sites in the world have botting problems at this point. Even as current botting gets cleaned up botters will just find new ways to work around counter measures. Here is stars getting botted for 1.5million and the investigation didn't happen until players stepped in

http://www.pokernews.com/news/2015/0...tion-21860.htm

here is more info: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/15...-them-1537778/

Now that doesn't mean WPN shouldn't do everything in their power to clean up botting but this forum tends to overreact quite a bit.

Quick edit: All affiliates that are affiliated with botting sites should be banned and funds seized without queston imo. I would pm Winning_TD with that info and if no response post further about it in the forums.

I'm hoping other online rec players like myself are done with WPN at this point. A don't ask don't tell policy with bots its sickening but not surprising honestly. Not that anything will be done but even if it was at this point it would only be if enough of an outcry comes as a result of the thread.

Im not 100% convinced that OP of the botting confession is not just trolling. But I'd expect ACR to come clean if they could ID the account. I am sure they wont as it would expose them in a bad light and likely players who played against the account would ask for money back. But, considering the information revealed in the post, I'd think its easy to identify an account which withdrew 30k over the past 6 months, has stopped playing since and had some of the tendencies as described....

Balls in your court WPN.

There is exactly zero chance of anyone from WPN commenting on this and it shows exactly how much respect they have for its customers.

They have no clue about bots of what to do to prevent/ban bots.

Am I the only one that thinks if WPN ignores this, its essentially them admitting their site is full of bots and there is little to no enforcement of their terms and conditions?
07-20-2016 , 02:55 AM
After reading the op I just cant stop thinking that every 14/7 multi tabling nit I come across at 25nl is really just a bot :/ Hope Im proven wrong, know I wont be

This is under the F.A.Q section of one of the more popular bot companies...

Is this software allowed at the poker sites? That is your responsibility to determine from your understanding of their terms of service. If you are not comfortable using it, then please don't. However, we have been selling this product since 2008, and in our experience, the poker rooms we support don't seem to care about anything except making more rake.

This is so crazy! Is online poker going to turn into who can make the best bot? This is going to destroy the game. WPN needs to step up here. End their affiliate deals with these companies. Be transparent with the players about the bots and start making this a priority.

And admitted he had bots

I believe it. I think he gave up his identity and had to say he was joking

Obv bots are rampant on the site. I mean you can tell based on the new accounts that would appear and instafill tables together when a human sat down

The site can't stop these things. They just can't.

he also said in a previous post that the thread was getting too long, and inferred he was tired of answering the same questions...

who knows the real truth...

also, someone creating a new account and saying they thought they were narrowing down who it was, probably didn't help in keeping him around answering questions if he was telling the truth.(seemed pretty believable to me)

To all future witch hunters don't do this. The person was actively participating in the thread, the more he posts the better chance he would slip up and incriminate himself.

Glad I withdrew my money from this site after seeing all the botting

Who knows if he is lying still though. Maybe he just had a change of heart. Even if he is trolling, after reviewing a popular bot website, I found a bot forum with 100s of people sharing information on botting. This is a legit problem.

The bots aren't great but they are good enough to take from bad players, and if they are taking from bad players, they are taking money that could potentially be won by good players, thus destroying the game in the long run.

Dont get me wrong, there is still enough action on acr to make a profit even after the absurd 7bb/100 rake at micros. But bots that just nit it up only make the game worse for everyone. I think the op was telling the truth and just said he was trolling to get out of having to potentially deal with the consequences.

Bots will always be exploitable. Perhaps this is just the unfortunate future of online poker, and the bots will replace the bad regs, but the good regs will still be able to beat the bad players and the bots.

-1 to my own post. This was pre-Liberatus. HU bots are no longer exploitable, and I'd be surprised if full ring 99% (or 99.9% even) GTO bots were not in existence by 2020. Granted at first at least, these GTO bots will require massive computers and long amounts of time to think, so they won't immediately show up online, even if they weren't able to be detected by site security.

Good idea, free money, better go get it!

What's really messed up is that when there is a botting problem it's always the players that have to sit there and analyze the data themselves. Luckily we have 2+2 to connect with each other and people can build databases and analyze the results together. Without regulation it seems that sites have no real incentive to police the player pools themselves unless the players complain en mass.

I guess the only thing to say here is, THANK YOU 2+2!!!
