Question about winning a satellite seat

I'm a noob still to online poker. I play on acr. Last night I won a seat into today's 15k 100+9 tournament. Did I have to play it or could I have unregistered and received tourney bucks for it?

If the tourney is going on you get put in the tourney right away... I think this needs to be fixed right away, what if you don't feel like playing after seating there playing for hours already and want to take a short break.
