question about add ons question about add ons

06-15-2013 , 11:17 PM
i entered a $6 rebuy on bcp a little while ago. i clicked the add on option on the table as soon as it opened. i checked the tourney lobby within 60 seconds of the start of the game. there were 15 players with 3000 chips. how is it that 15 players had 3000 chips and the rest have close to 1500 approximately? i emailed support and he said they must have busted out and double rebought. i pointed out that 15 players were unlikely to have busted out in one minute. he said i was entitled to my opinion. this isn't the first rebuy/addon where I've experienced the same thing.

how does one add on 1500 chips at the beginning of the tourney? i don't see any option for that.

thanks

The addon feature, to the best of my knowledge, is for the addon period after late registration has closed. The rebuy function will allow you to add the extra chips.

Hope this helps!

agreed about the timing of the addon chips after late registration closes, but I had checked the option "rebuy" right under the "addon" option. after a difficult interaction with life support, I emailed support with my question. they wanted to know the tournament id #, which I didn't write down.

"In order for us to properly assist you we would need you to provide us with the tournament ID where you are playing at so that we can tell you when is going to be the add on. Keep in mind that you can also see that information on the tournament lobby, just look for the tournament open the tournament information and there you will see the add ons information."

would I be wrong in thinking that it doesn't matter what the id# is, and that the time you get the addon would be the same for every tournament?

i'm not sure what support is referring to about "addon info on the tournament lobby" there's no info that I saw about addons, just an option to check the addon feature.

bill, you're thinking that by checking "rebuy" before the tourney starts I should be able to start with 3000 chips? this is true on carbon poker, but it doesn't seem to work for me on bcp.

I wish I had copied the text of my interaction with live support. it was good for a laugh. it reminded me of how my wife just assumes I know what she's thinking by reading her mind and a few half sentences that don't express a clear thought. birds of a feather flock together though. ha!ha! the support tech told me that I was entitled to my opinion, but the fact is 15 players had 3000 chips at the start of the game, and no support person is able to tell me how they got the extra chips. just that i'm imagining it all and it's just my opinion.

thanks for the reply.

Perhaps use your hand histories to go back and identify the tournament ID? It's a start.

here's the answer to the add on question. players can add on 1500 chips in addition to their 1500 starting stack by clicking on the "rebuy" tab at the top of the table. I spoke with two different support people who had no idea what I was talking about. the first one said I was entitled to my opinion, but players started with 1500 chips and there just was no way anyone could have 3000 chips unless they busted out and then double rebought.

i told live support today that i wasn't able to register for any tournaments, and did they have any idea why i couldn't. his reply was:

"17:57 Pablo C: what do you mean cant register? untill what point are you getting?

i don't know what "until what point are you getting" meant, but it was all very entertaining.

he did fix the problem though.

Well cool. Their support staff, in my experience, will go pretty far to help to the best of their abilities.

agreed, they really try hard in most cases. just a bit of a language barrier when it comes to the written word. but of course, that's how we communicate in the case of customer support issues.

I thought you could rebuy right away. I know in at least one rebuy tourney on there that was the case.
