i came up with a fix!!!!!
1. install the app on desktop
2. then move the app into applications folder
3. double click app
*side note
double clicking the app will start up the ****ing app (finally), but it will open another installer on your desktop....
do not worry. open the installer, and select "replace"
4. this time, the app will open
