Forgive me if this has been answered numerous times in this thread but is it even possible to like 8+ table on ACR?

I have a pimped out quad core with a gigabit connection (university) and playing anything more than 8 tables is literally unbearable...

It just disconnects/sits out left and right and I can hardly even play a hand (I have 20+ tabled in the past on other sites with ease so this is a bit bemusing). Basically I am just hemorrhaging money for no reason other than it appears that the software is beyond terrible (unless I am missing something that I can fix).

(I am playing strictly cash if that makes any difference whatsoever; also using PT4 (can use HM2 instead if that helps for some reason)).

Like it freezes up...and it wont even let me act (if you see in first pic, I cant even call/bet/raise)...and then it just times out/disconnects and I am sitting out...

I play a bunch of tables fine but with no hand tracker or hud so that may be your problem. You check task manager to see how much of your cpu it's eating up?

Or your just lagging for some reason. The no button thing has happened to me cuz of internet lag I'd guess. doesnt happen much tho.

I used to play over 45 tables with pt4 running. With HEM2, I would start lagging around 16 tables.

When you start lagging, shut down pt4 and see if it frees up your system.

To play that many tables, I went out and bought the fastest system I could get. At that time, it was a Dell XPS 8500. The system before that started lagging at 32 tables.

I was unsure what the bottleneck was, but it seemed like the processor speed.

To not be able to play over 8 tables on a newer system is strange. I played 15 on an old laptop of mine with pt4 running...

Best investment for any player using PT4 or HEM2 is a SSD.

Doesn't have to be huge, just enough for OS and Database.

You want plenty (I recommend at least twice the size of your database at least) of free space too. HM2 (and I assume PT4 since it's PostgreSQL doing these things) uses the Windows Temp directory when doing database tasks such as backup, maintenance, etc. You also don't want to run out of space when importing as it can corrupt your database. Most players are fine with a 256GB SSD as long as all non OS/Poker stuff is stored on slave/external HDD's.

I have a SSD and its virtually empty.

I was trying to figure out if there was anyway to optimize settings/turn off animations/anything that would slow things down...etc.

My CPU usage is almost nothing so I dont think thats the problem either.

Bummer. This is slightly disheartening.

Yeah but my MacBook doesn't have an optical drive. So far it has been a huge pain in the ass buying a flash drive, a Windows install disc, putting a disc image on the flash drive so I can install from it, then getting Parallels...ugh. I bought a Mac so I didn't have to touch Windows ever again.

+1. I use Mac because I got tired of waiting 10-15 minutes for a computer to boot up only to crash half the time.

45? You're nuts lol. I have noticed lately that once in a great while, and I'm playing 4-5 tables, there's a burst of lag and I may get timed/folded out of a round of hands. Honestly it hasn't happened that much and doesn't seem to be related to the software...could either be processor (the PC laptop I'm using temporarily right now is an old POS) or internet.

Either way ACR/BCP > Bovada so I'm ok dealing with a few lag issues in return for rakeback, being able to use PT4 and much better software.

Windows is easily down to 5 minutes now (joking mine boots up in less than a minute now). Having said that Mac does have a lot of advantages to pc (especially graphics). I rarely have lag issues unless it's on their end and I have a HUD running and quite often OBS software as I like to review my play via video replay (running windows7, i7 processor, 16gb memory, 2gb dedicated graphics memory, two 1tb drives (one specifically for storage).

Yeah but I would have to buy a new PC and already have a new MacBook. Plus I read the ToS about them installing spyware on your computer, selling it to advertisers and using your computer as a server for other users to download updates...thanks but no thanks.

Don't get me wrong I like Mac a lot...my 83 year old mom has a Mac so I am fluent on both platforms. As someone who grew up on PC's and someone on a budget I take the path of least resistance. I did not know that the ToS gives them the right to put spyware on your computer OR them using your bandwidth...good information to know.

Really, they can use your comp like a freaking torrent (might explain lag issues)?

Yep. Here's a way to fix it though.

Thanks for the info...haven't upgraded from 7 yet but I bookmarked that page for future reference.

Anybody have this problem?

Im moved to a table, first to act and my hand is mucked automatically. Dealt cards but never given a chance to make a decision.
08-30-2015 , 08:23 PM
Can't get back onto my tables after logging out and back in. Is the site down?

How can a site announce a huge series, and even worse, have it be the 2nd time they've ran it, and not have their servers ready to handle it? This is becoming a fail site. I'd be VERY CAUTIOUS about depositing any more money on this site.

Careful with what you say...the last guy that talked like that got his chat at ACR banned and was put on the perma doomswitch.

I've already had all deposit options except Bitcoin revoked, so I'm not really worried about it.

Actually the poster above you was right, they did that guy a favor. From what I've heard that dude is playing freerolls at ACR and paying rake at Bovada.

It's really just the MTT that are the issue. I'm a cash player and the servers are not the big of a deal but I feel bad for the tourny players. They get **** on over and over and over and there's no end to it.

I was really looking forward to grinding a ton of the Freebuys yesterday and damn, I feel you MTT players pain. **** is just ******ed on this site with the tourneys and servers going down.
08-31-2015 , 09:36 PM
Ok...can someone clear this up for me. I just joined this network and am using ACR. I play a R/A MTT and click on the auto add on option. I go to the bathroom and come back to find the tournament has gone past the add on stage without adding me on. I'm told by customer service it asks you again to re-confirm an add on.

Is this right? Why on earth would you have an auto add on option then ask to reconfirm it?

Don't know if this belongs here, but has anyone ever had their password not work? I logged in a few nights ago, played for a few hours and logged out. Next day went to log in again and it gave me a message of bad user code or password. Got on with live chat, and reset my password. I asked if my account had been compromised, and the rep assured me everything with my account was ok, but wouldn't or couldn't tell me why my password wouldn't work. Just seemed odd.

Can't be worse than no new tables spawning.
