Hi, I am new to this online poker thing.. Last time I played were years and years ago when Full tilt, ultimate bet, pokerstars, etc. was all still legal!!

I have been lurking around and have come across this.. Is this place accepting US players? Do I just go to americascardroom and download their client? Do I just deposit and withdraw like normally? Any tips and trips for good first timer promos? Any tips and trips for cashing out? How is the games here? I am really seeking a place to play for some good tournaments.. Is this the place to be?

Yes ACR accepts American players, and it seems the preferred method of deposit and withdrawal is via bitcoin. You should follow this guide and setup an account on a site like coinbase and link your bank account with it.

I set up a coinbase account over the weekend and I'm waiting until it's properly linked to my bank account so I can deposit on America's Card Room. They offer a 100% first deposit bonus where they match your deposit up to I think $1000, and they also give you a free $50 bucks throughout the first 30 days by giving you a card or chest or something each day which is worth a varied amount, and after 30 days it all adds up to $50 bucks.

There's a couple other sites Americans can play on. There's Ignition, which I tried a couple play money games on, and the software is absolutely horrible so I'm not planning to play there. There's also Global Poker which is actually based in California if I understand correctly, and they are a sweepstakes poker site and are not legally classified as a gambling site, so they are able to do deposits and withdrawals through paypal. They have play money (gold coin) games and also real money (sweeps cash) games, and when you create an account they give you $2 dollars in sweeps cash for free. I rolled it up some and played a $5 dollar tourney and won it for $102 bucks, made a cashout request via paypal and had to send in a couple photos for ID and address verification and the money was in my paypal account in a matter of a couple hours.

They have some MTTs and even some guarantees, but nothing like the size of what you can find on ACR.
