My money is gone? My money is gone?

01-22-2014 , 11:57 AM
I'm a player on America's Cardroom. As of 1/9, I had $200. I played for several days and ended with a total of $178.53 (a little more including rakeback/bonuses).

Because I had lost $20 or so, I took a break for a few day and now I'm back. I just downloaded America's Cardroom on a new computer and logged in to see my balance is $0.02, when in reality it should be $178.53.

Here is a link to my thread where you can verify my starting total bankroll of $200: LINK

Here are my real money session results from America's Cardroom's website for the dates of 1/9 to 1/22:

My name on America's Cardroom is RipeTower. My total is supposed to be over $178.53 (rakeback/bonuses), and yet my balance is currently $0.02? Can someone explain what the hell is going on?

EDIT:

After further review, my balance should actually be right at $200 after bonuses/rakeback. You can see this from my financial statements from 1/14 to 1/21 compared to my balance on the thread of $283. I lost $84 from 1/14 to 1/21 and I was at $283 to start.

I found another oddity on my account. When I clicked on the deposit button, it shows the following. Notice there is no visa button. I have never deposited using anything but visa, and it appears I can no longer make deposits by visa.

Has my account been hacked?

I just checked the email registered to my account and I've received nothing about it.

Have you been in touch with customer services? I would advise you do as they have access to all the info that could clear this up

Yes, I have sent them an email and I will be calling them first thing when I can (I'm at work now, so I cannot). I'm genuinely shocked about this whole situation. I decided to also post a thread here so that maybe someone can shed some light on the matter before I get a hold of CS. Does this look like anything you have seen before?

Ok i have just looked into this further. I wont post in public the situation but your account was not hacked. Also it is correct that your deposit methods are showing as they are. You will now only be able to deposit via western union or money gram. If you want to discuss this privately i have all the information or you can speak to the security department directly. As you all know this isnt my department but i try to help as and when i can on 2+2.

If it must be in private, please use my email ripetowerpoker@gmail.com. You can also just post here if you like.

I don't mind that I can only deposit via WU now (although I would like to know why), but where in the flying hell is my money? I just checked my Chase account and my deposits are still active (have not been refunded for anything).

I appreciate your help, but as you can imagine I'm a little bit shocked.

I really like the other thread that you linked. I hope all this works out.

If you dont mind then i will write it here. If you have a problem i will delete it straight away. When you dispute a deposit that you have made from your credit card as a fraud transaction. We incur many costs. You will see that we refunded a couple of your transactions straight away so that your bank wouldnt claim a charge back. Infact with the costs we have incurred by this and the money we refunded we are still short of money that you should pay. I spoke with security and if you wish to deposit cash only we will wipe the slate clean and you are more than welcome to play on the site.

Did you dispute the card transaction or was something your bank did on their own? Just wondering.

**** you, OP.

Looks like you cryed wolf and the wolf found you?

I'm not sure that I understand the hostility to the OP. I don't see any bad guys in this thread. It looks like the OP resorted to an attempt at self-help that didn't work out so good and Winning_TD handled it generously.

I think that the OP's blog in the other thread is something that we need more of and only helps WPN by making it look like an attractive place to play.

To me, it sounds like customer service said that he made a claim that one of those deposits was "fraudulant" and then continued using the questionable money... BCP followed through with researching the fraudulant claim and obviously made their decision?? Would love the OP to clarify...

More like the OP made a deposit and then told his CC it was fraud, aka a "chargeback". It took ACR a few weeks before the claim came through and they refunded his CC and took his funds.

We'd really need to know when and why to understand this.
01-28-2014 , 09:36 AM
its most likely he went ahead and did a chargeback.

The hostility is because it was not an attempt at self-help it was an attempted theft of ~$200.

If that were true, I'm not so sure that the rep would say, "you are more than welcome to play on the site." The OP was never banned at any point in this. It just seems more like some sort of misunderstanding to me.
01-28-2014 , 02:15 PM
Sounds like OP disputed transactions. The bank would only act on their own at the point of sale. Chargeback and disputes are only reasons bank would pull back money after sale.

I think the rep would absolutely let somebody come back and feed them rake after they cleared his acct for whatever reason. He is saying "now we are good and if you wanna play with legitimate $$ feel free". OP gonna say anything at all?? Would love some clarification as you pretty much claimed theft??

That is not true at all. A lot of different sites ban you for chargebacks.

OP last activity on the site was

So either he has forgotten about this thread as the TD posted at

Many networks have "blacklists" of customers who have filed chargebacks of their poker deposits.

Sounds like OP was a d-bag. Santa Cruz, you seem a little naive about this issue, but you always have such strong opinions...just sayin

If he is new to online poker maybe he didn't recognize the charges and thought they were fraud. The charges are disguised under different names and amounts so maybe it was just a misunderstanding. Everyone on here is so quick to judge people and he could have went into hiding due to the reaming from all the posters. We should give people the benefit of the doubt before blasting them. By the way I am not him as all my posts were deleted when the Carbon Poker section was deleted.
