Mucked hands Mucked hands

I have recently been playing on BCP and am running Poker Tracker 3. The hand histories on BCP do not show the opponents mucked cards and therefore do not show up on my HUD either?

Is there any way to view mucked cards or am I missing something?

No there isn't because this option is disabled on purpose.

I hope that their new software will allow the showing of mucked hands.

This is the explanation from the BlackChipRep...

The "mucked at showdown" policy is designed to mimic that of a live casino game. The aggressor must show, but the caller can choose not to, if he loses. Most of the casual players on the network are more familiar with live casino play than the online version where the hands must be shown, and the network wants to make those players as comfortable as possible.

I really hate when a site claims to be doing something to mimic live casino play when they are in fact doing it to give good players less of an advantage inorder to keep money from leaving the site. The contention that most online players are more familiar with live casino play is nonsense especially since most states don't allow live casino play and it's my understanding that most online players are like myself and don't play live.

HUDs and the showing of mucked cards help online players overcome the disadvantages of not playing against flesh and blood opponents.

I definitely prefer this to what Revolution did to help the fish

Revolution was forced to reverse it's decision to implement Fair Play yet WPN still doesn't show mucked cards. Not only are the showing of mucked cards important for reasons I mentioned above, they are hugely important in controlling collusion. In a casino there is little chance that players are communicating with each other on skype as they play. On the internet, though, this is a real concern. Unless WPN has the very best security in the world, the mucking of cards creates a colluders paradise. To try to blindly mimic live play on the internet is grossly naive.

Recently I've been playing a lot of DON's on various sites. There's a situation that has been coming up occasionally that is kind of strange. On the bubble when there is an extremely low stack a few people limp in. Now that's perfectly normal in order to get the small stack out. But what isn't normal is that once in awhile one of the limpers goes all in on the flop with absolutely nothing. The other limpers have to fold assuming the person who just shoved has a monster. The short stack ends up quadrupling up when he would have otherwise lost the game. There is absolutely no conceivable benefit to the person who shoved other than to save the short stack.

If I can see the mucked cards I can clearly see what happened and make a note on that player as a possible colluder. But if the mucked cards aren't shown then the possible colluder can make a clean getaway almost every time. I only use the DONs as an example but in actuality both cash games and all forms of sitngos become vulnerable to collusion when the mucked cards aren't shown. I'd be more than a little surprised if there wasn't a fair amount of collusion thriving on the network right now.

Its probably not as big of deal as people make it out to be but I do have a grip or two about this.

When certain information gets withheld it become for difficult for the players to know if they are in a fair game. The reason you can request to see if a player mucked his hand in a casino is so he knows players are not soft playing or cheating.

The second grip is that this kinda messes with PokerTracker and HEM espeically in the CAP games. Certain hands don't get recorded properly and it messes with the EV line. The results are not terribly off but it is off a bit.
