Late Registration

This could go in MTT strategy forum but I don't think any other sites have registration this long. I would say its obvious that starting from the beginning is optimal if you are a +ev player since you see more hands and can gather more information from opposing players. In the standard registration format (3hrs) how bad is it to register after 30 mins, 1 hr, 2hr, and minutes from registration close?

Lets assume you are 25% roi tourney player at respective buy in if you started all tourneys at the beginning. What do you think the roi would be if you started at the above times?

Thanks for any help.

Re: Late Registration

Basically, if you have a solid short game you won't lose much by late registering but the shorter you play the more variance you should expect. How short to enter depends on a few things like your tolerance for risk and bankroll.

I like to have two orbits to reshove so I generally pass if I enter the tournament with less than 15 big blinds.

Re: Late Registration

If you're only going to buy in once, why wouldn't you buy in at start and just play the thing? The late reg on ACR is almost entirely designed to maximize re-entries. The fatsofat's of the world that will waste 25 buyins of their backers money and not cash. That is the only reason late reg is so long.

I'm all for the punters getting 25 chances to punt. I also have no problem with a player buying in for first time on last level of late reg, trying to get that all-important mincash. There is literally nothing better than making a FT and not having any competition because there are 5 guys trying to ladder to 6th.

Everybody wants the games tailor-made for them, but that's just not how it works.
