It's not an ideal solution, but if you're interested in trying it, it's posted here:

FYI, the tourney type issue for JP's is fixed in PT4. I submitted a ticket for it and they resolved Monday.

Thanks for your information - the tournament detection rules have been updated and these tournaments should now detect correctly.

The updated rules file will be downloaded automatically the next time that you restart PT4.

To re-run detection on any existing tournaments after restarting PT4 click 'Edit Tournament Results' in the sidebar on the Tournament > Results page, select the affected tournaments and click Auto Detect.
If the tournaments are not updated you may need to re-import them. To do this you will first need to purge them from your database.

If you notice any other tournament types which are not detected correctly please send us example files.

What is this "rules" file that he speaks of? I started PT4 and noticed no files that have been changed under the install tree...

I'm not 100% sure on it, but thinking it's TournamentDetect.cfg in the appdata area.

I tried searching for this file via the crappy search offered by W7 and not finding it.
06-12-2015 , 08:18 PM
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\Config

Or something similar to that probably. The AppData folder might be hidden by default.
06-12-2015 , 08:19 PM
appdata... isn't that an XP thing?

nevermind, I found it. I was hiding my system files.

Even after unhiding my files, crappy W7 search can't find it.

I don't recall when it started, but still around in Win 8.1.

You mean "appdata"? Apparently it is not possible to execute a search which will find a file in a hidden directory? Even after I unhid the files and directories and made sure that the "Search other files and libraries" was set to "Search with public folders", the search failed to find "tournamentdetect".
It's hard to believe Windows has gotten this poor at certain tasks where earlier versions were actually better, as I remember them.

WPN,

Seriously you need to add the prize info in the damn hand history. Its not a matter of trusting you or not, I just want to be able to figure out my win rate and keep accurate records of my play. People using PT4 I guess have options but us guys using HM2 simply don't. We've asked for this a 100+ times already is there something I'm missing as to why you won't add it?

searching the directory tree found the file. Then I went back and searched from the start menu again and it showed up! I suspect some caching mechanism is happening here. Oh and appdata wasn't hidden after all... I shouldn't comment on here while drinking

God! appdata IS hidden. Windows is driving me insane.

Hahaha. I think there's an option somewhere to include hidden/system folders in search. And yeah, I was referring to appdata.

I don't know if my system is erroneously configured, but on my system if you search for a file located in the appdata structure, you can actually get into an infinite loop since within appdata there's a shortcut to "Application Data" and apparently this causes search to keep searching the same directories. I'm still trying to figure this structure out... there is an "Application Data" folder at the same level (apparently) as appdata as well as the "Application Data" shortcut located within appdata. I've read that Application Data is an XP thing so I suspect it is here for compatibility with older programs. This leads me to believe that the designers of Windows 7 didn't want you poking around in this structure.

I discovered that the "Application Data" located in the user's directory is actually a link (hard?) to appdata/roaming. The shortcut "application data" located in appdata/local seems to point to appdata/local itself, hence the infinite loop. This would seem to be an erroneous file. Can anyone running window 7 see if they have a shortcut "application data" located in their appdata/local directory?
06-13-2015 , 01:23 PM
Not sure if anyone cares, but I'll share this anyway: my system was screwed up because I modified permissions to appdata/local/Application Data in my zeal to get access to files which I thought I should have access to. This Application Data is a junction (I don't know what that is yet) which points to appdata/local and since I gave myself permissions to it (I actually owned the file!) that's how the infinite loop occurred. A lesson to myself not to mess with stuff I don't fully understand.

Come on really you need this clarified?
06-13-2015 , 10:03 PM
Yes it needs to be clarified one calls the tourney a 10 seat satelite while the other calls it a 15 seat one.
