"Everytime i try to leave WPN keeps bringing me back, i need you in my life" - Tyrese

this is how i feel lol. Great job wpn played maybe 50 of these yesterday no issues and loving the format def fun and got me to comeback and play after variance kicked my butt and i said I was taking a month off!

I can say at all hours both the $2s and $10s I have not waited for than 10 seconds for a game to start even at 7am eastern time

Re: Jackpot Poker!

Yeah, the waiting times are really small even at offpeak hours... but does it matter when almost all the games at the $10 level seem to be 3-reg at this time of day? (There are even regs from the East Coast, who go to bed late. There are not enough Australians to offset them, while recreational Americans have gone to bed hours ago because they have to work today.)

Re: Jackpot Poker!

I've played 275 of these and am dead break even. All 10 dollar ones. Very small sample size but if I can stay remotely close to even rake back should put a profit in the books

Swings are going to be absurd in these, I've seen people saying 500-1000BI swings are more than possible. I'm going to play them, but I'm going to be playing drastically less as they will be far from reliable income.

2. Create a text file and write your finish positions into it while grinding
Yes, I do the manual tracking to update into PT4 but it's not like other WPN mtt/sng games that don't update but meh it doesn't take long to do manually. Grinding volume in Jackpots may mean 100's in a session, what a friggin nightmare to manually update all that.

Even when PT4 gets their tourney detection updated to pick up finishing position and buy in, for Jackpots we still need to record amount won for all the wins since not all finishes will pay the same.

The solution, and I think it's an easy one for WPN to do (not sure), is to write a tourney summary file upon your exit to the event that includes things like buy in, finish position, total players, and payout amount. This not only addresses the automation of jackpots for PT/HM, but automation for all MTT's and sng's.

Will something like SpinWiz be allowed on WPN?

Re: Jackpot Poker!

I'd also like to hear answers to the two above questions!

On a side note, Leatherass is now playing a table of $10 Jackpot to go with 5 tables of midstake CAP NL on his Twitch stream, that's nice publicity! Maybe I'll stack him tonight

He's actually just folded his SB to a BB who was sitting out, loool.

Edit:

There's no way to see wiinings in $ in tracking software simply because the prize pool size is not written into game history files, so you have to check the cashier if you want to know the actual winnings... but it's a bad idea because all you need to know to measure your skill is how many chips (all-in adjusted) you've won, which is correctly tracked by PT4.

#JackpotPoker is already a huge success. We’ve upped the winning potential with a $40 buy-in now paying up to $100k.
Don't see them in the lobby yet, though.

Unfortunately both PokerTracker and Holdem Manager cannot track the results of these new Jackpot tables because the prize pool and payout structures are not listed within the hand history at this time. All-In Equity Adjusted Winnings (sometimes misunderstood as Chip EV) can be calculated in qualified all-in pots, but Net Adjusted Winnings cannot be calculated because the prizepool and payout structure is unknown.

To clarify, both All-In Equity Adjusted winnings and Net Adjusted Winnings are NOT measurements of skill, nor are they measurements of luck - they are only measurements of expectation. This is a very common misunderstanding that is passed along within the poker community, we hope this clarifies the true use for these stats.

The PT4 HUD will work, but in some scenarios once heads up the seating positions will not work properly because PT4 is not designed to support 3 handed tables at WPN. A bug report has been noted.

We had them in there for five minutes and realized we needed to make a graphical change. We're hoping to have them back up tomorrow.

There is a seating algorithm. It's not first come/first seated.

Awesome! (I hate Spinwiz and am glad to learn that it can never work on the WPN.) Bring on the $40s!

Yeah, I formulated it imprecisely; what I meant is I think that all-equity adjusted chip winnings is the closest assessment of the true chip EV for practical purposes that tracking software can calculate.

(Well, that's true for cash games; in tournaments, it's less accurate because the chance of winning is not proportional to the stack size even in winner-take-all formats because the effective stack and relative skill level matter, but adjusted chip winnings are much less subject to variance, so we use them to estimate the skill, rather than actual chip winnings.)
