Funny business from ACR reps while trying to deposit

Three days ago I attempted to deposit 100 through moneygram to my ACR account. They recently dropped deposits through Western Union, so I had only deposited through MG once before, but I was able to do so with little trouble.

ACR has updated their deposit UI, so it took a while, but I was finally able to find the name and location to deposit via MG. I drove 30 minutes to the closest wal mart and sent 100 off. Less than three hours later, I learn that the deposit had been rejected.

I get online "customer service" and they tell me that I was given the wrong name to deposit under. They give me another name and instruct me to send the deposit to it.

I've never had any trouble with ACR or its reps, so I give them the benefit of the doubt, drive back to Wal Mart, cancel the original deposit, and then send the money to the new name they've provided to me.

I go back home and see that the deposit is processing according to the client software. Before my deposits have always been credited in no more than an hour, so I found it a little strange that the deposit was still pending the next morning when I woke up.

I was offline for several hours when I finally logged back on to see that my deposit had been rejected.

I log back on to speak with "customer service" to be told by a representative named "Sasha" that the supposed reason for the deposit being rejected was that my name had been blacklisted by moneygram.

Naturally I tilt, because the only reason that my name was being blacklisted was due to the fact that I followed the ACR reps instructions to the letter, and yet when talking to them they say that is no fault of theirs that I'm blacklisted, even though I was doing exactly what they told me.

I was preparing to write a post complaining about how ACR got me blacklisted form Moneygram when I actually bother to call MG and speak to someone about what happened, and there the plot thickens.

It turns out that I'm not blacklisted at all, and the second deposit I sent is still available for pickup. Even though I was told by two different ACR reps, and one supervisor ("Amy") that they were so sorry I was blacklisted by moneygram.

I get back online to speak to customer service and I get "Edouard" who tells me that no, I'm not blacklisted by Moneygram, but the fact that they can't process my deposit is that MY OWN NAME is misspelled on the transfer.

Luckily I have the receipt for the transfer in my hand as I talk to Ed, which confirms my suspicion that I do in fact know how to spell my name. I tell Ed this and he says that I can seen a pic of the receipt to the ACR email, but I probably still wouldn't be credited my deposit. He says that the fastest way to insure that my deposit goes through is to cancel the deposit...again...and send it to a third name.

Ed seems like a straight shooter, so I tell him that I'd be happy to. He goes afk for over 10 minutes and tells me that the only deposits they can accept right now are bitcoin.

At this point, after being lied to by customer service several times and making several trips to try to deposit, I really don't think I have enough confidence in WPN to give them a cryptocurrency.

I've been a customer of WPN for several years and I've never had an experience like this, it's really amazing how the treatment of customers has declined.

If you don't want players to deposit via moneygram, remove the option from your software. Don't make them make repeated trips to attempt to fix a situation they didn't have any hand in creating.

If you only want to take bitcoin deposits, just say so upfront. Because by being dishonest with customers, you aren't going to get any deposits at all.

Moneygram deposits have become much more difficult to process. Its on Moneygrams ens, I believe they are scrutinizing deposits much more closely/blocking what they perceive transactions to online gaming. Don't blame WPN.

If you're depositing ~$100, you should just use a NetSpend card. You can reload it almost anywhere.

OP, there is a great thread on 2+2 for getting $ onto WPN without having to go to Walmart. Just take 10 minutes or so to find someone reputable

I blame WPN for telling me I was blacklisted when that clearly wasn't the case. It would have saved me a lot of time and maintained trust just to say that MG deposits weren't working. I got a rep to finally admit that the problem was on their end, not mine and that they knew that I wasn't blacklisted.

I have problems depositing money with an organization that isn't honest with me.

Customer service wasn't honest with me, customer service knew they weren't being honest with me, and the foundation of gaming is honesty and trust. My problem isn't that they've had problems with MG, it's the fact that instead of telling me so in the first place and saving me several hours in trips and calls and time talking to customer service, they told me something that was objectively untrue.

I'm in the middle of something similar. I haven't deposited to WPN before. But I had on other US facing sites through MG. Never took more than an hour. I'm six hours in and no money. They keep telling me everything is ok, that I just have to wait, but I'm not entirely sure.

first off if your gonna do a MG deposit why in the world would you go all the way to the store and not just do it online? Way faster and the fee's are cheaper plus you can copy and paste everything. I have done about 20 MG deposits and never once had an issue. Before sending I always contact support and make sure the payment processing center it gives me is correct and open. If you always follow those small steps you should have no more problems with your future MG transfers

Just curious in what way at all have MG deposits become more difficult? I'm pretty sure you just made that up.

Maybe I wasn't clear about following customer service's exact instructions the second time I tried to deposit.

Actually ACR has told me that they are having trouble with MG deposits.I was told it was similar to just before Western Union stopped working with them.

Re: Funny business from ACR reps while trying to deposit

I would think acr and most sites really want to deter money gram deposits as their success rate isnít as high as btc.

Had similar problems w acr mg deposits.. most of the time was my fault.

Itís money gram that sucks though bc Iíve used it outside of poker rooms and it seems like there are a lot of reasons they get messed up (I.e. wrong spelling, Blocked names, after hours, wrong currency, reached limit etc etc etc)
