Empowering Players at Americas Cardroom

If you go to the 7 Day No Rat Hole cash tables, you’ll see the new Sit Out time bank feature when a player is sitting out. We created this feature as a way to empower our customers to address table camping, which is a common problem across all sites. Assuming this feature is successful and players enjoy it, we will release it on all cash tables.

This theme of empowering players to police and improve online poker is a direction we wish to continue. Throughout the history of online poker, the playing community has always played a major role in identifying methods and players who are using unethical game play practices.

While WPN works in the background towards the goal of providing the fairest gaming experience, we’re convinced teaming with our loyal player base will achieve this more efficiently and effectively. However, in this process, WPN must also ensure we maintain our policy of strict player privacy.

Bots is another issue to address in online poker. Throughout recent years, bots have made their way into every online poker site. WPN has taken steps to eliminate bots, but we believe our players can help. A feature we have in our back office is to check suspicious play with a captcha system. We are working to put this feature into the players’ hands.

When finished, players will be able to administer a captcha check on other players during play. While we continue to do our best to improve online poker and provide the fairest gaming experience, we also hope to hear from players with ideas of features that empower players to join us in this common goal.

Together, we believe Americas Cardroom will become the industry leader in fair game play.

If you have other ideas to empower players, please let us know.

"Empowering players to police" How about doing your actual jobs? Just take security off and admit there is none. Just realize this is like a police force saying, we don't actually need to patrol neighborhoods, just tell us if something is wrong! Even though that is how it's already been with ACR, and there are still bots months after being told there were bots, so they aren't even coming to aid when shown with data.

Re: Empowering Players at Americas Cardroom

In the thread you cited Winning_TD says, “Before you sit here and think security and I are useless we send a warning email when its a first offence. However we don’t sit there and look out for things unless someone reports it.”

Warnings for cheaters are not ok. Lack of reimbursement for cheated players, not ok. The CEO & support should stop lying about security efforts. The security burden should not be placed on the players who pay you $ to run games. Kill the rake races which incentivize and reward bots.

That captcha idea is a good one. Hurry the fk up before human customers leave.

Nice spin attempt but you’ve made the players powerless, not empowered or loyal. Oh yea, stop treating your customer base like idiots with transparent marketing terms and “promotions”

Re: Empowering Players at Americas Cardroom

my immediate concern of a "captcha check" on other players during play. I see this immediately being abused. I "captcha you just because I am bored". I do like the idea of a captcha check happening on like every to hour and 15 minutes on a random spin. I am not a fan of "Players administering a captcha check". I don't receive such captcha for some random reason as a live player.

Captcha just like you did with the December promotion making us either click something on the screen and answer in certain amount of time before it takes us off the table or something.

I do however like the camping out on the tables when people are sitting out way too long. That is a step in the right direction.

Re: Empowering Players at Americas Cardroom

This is a good start towards fighting bots. I imagine the collective power of the players is going to be greater than anything ACR would do by itself.

Nothing is mentioned about fixing the late registration exploit, which seems like it would be the quickest thing to fix. simply moving the last level of late registration back 15-30 minutes would help. Or just not allowing ppl who register in last level to be grouped together. To this point I have seen no effort from ACR to really do anything about this. My best guess is because theyd be more likely to end up with overlay in mtts.

I 1000% agree on this one. We want recreational fun players on the site who most likely won't know what a bot does or if they are playing 5 other bots on the site to even suspect a bot they are playing. If you are from Eastern Europe or a country I can't pronounce on my table, I tag them in game and then if I suspect they are bot, then I just pick up and go.

I am sorry, I ain't got the time like Joey Ingram to watch players and look for frequencies that would be a bot and I don't have hundred thousand hands on players. I am a recreational player meaning, I don't have a large enough hand history even on my own let alone any bot.

I have taken my money off and I am going to just wait it out until I see some action on the site. I am just going to play in my live games and hopefully lurk in here and friends to see some action taking place.

I actually wouldn't mind the entire ACR / WPN site shut down completely to overhaul the entire software to put up a standard bot free game. I guess that is labeled ACR 2.0 and add a catcha for the ring games and just fix the table exploit at late reg. I know how much it would cost to not have games on there at all not making $$ BUT think of all our money we have been raked off the system and losing out on the rake on the BEAST and SnG promos and then topping it off, and the winning ROI going to these bots. That is horribad.

Captcha on all the cash tables randomly every 1 1/2 hour. Dial back late reg time so that the colluders/bots won't have a chance to timebank ITM on the last late reg and fix the "new table exploit" and bring accountability of all the WPN skins to the multi accounting. These multiple skins not going through a check for drivers license and copy of bills and stuff should be mandatory on all skins, ACR, BCP, BetCoin (none of this anonymous stuff), PokerKing, yaha whoever that one is called and all these skins. Once banned on one skin, banned on all skins.

I would even say this. I think we all would agree, if we had a safe place to pla

They are either colluding or a multiplayer bot. They crash and stall, will disconnect to buy more time to enter the money.

Send them all a captcha at the same time. They enter the exact same time and only crash games with the intent to collude.

I am on your bandwagon. I would think that players would rather the late registrations be dialed back and if they are worred about overlay, then cut the gtd's down. The 3.30 1.5k game is too long and unnecessary. It's a marathon game. I love a good structured game but why a 3.30 tournament? It should be 2 hours at max. Its 4:30 PM my time writing this post and the 3.30 1.5K is still 4 levels left to go and blinds are already 250/50 with a 20 ante and 4 more levels left? I mean I don't know about any other MTT grinder out there.

Where were the times where the regular tournaments had 1 hour late registration and it was a treat when there was a 4 hour late registration tournament but you have a long structured tournament and had 10K of chips starting and the blinds didn't increase for like 15 minutes and so the last late registration break you still had a starting stack of at minimum 20bb stack.

This seems like it could be very easily abused. Why not give players a "report" button, and then have WPN administer the captcha?

This is worthless.

Humans can click buttons at the direction of a program making decisions.

Suspicious player = webcam or ban. Stop with this captcha garbage.

Doubling down on a failed system is the worst decision WPN could have made. Congrats, you did it.

This feature involves the button being disabled after pressed for x hours of play for that player. That way players aren't spammed while playing.

So now a webcam is required to play? lol. Just stop losing to 10NL bots and you'll be fine.

You posted player names out-of-context and said they were bots/multi accounting. You realize how stupid that is, right? I'm glad you at least could muster up a few screen shots of screen shots from Joey's video though.

I should state that I don't feel everyone should have a webcam. I feel that would be a terrible entry point for newcomers that would turn them away. Only accounts that have a reasonable suspicion should have to go through this process.
