What exactly does this mean? Are you saying things like hole cards etc are vulnerable? I'm sorry but I'm not a computer savvy guy.
09-19-2013 , 09:48 PM
Back up it seems.
09-19-2013 , 09:48 PM
Winning_TD- I think EVERY player that was playing any sort of tournament one of the last 3 nights (because the site went down every single night) should receive some compensation. Even when the site goes back up this is a huge inconvience and we are just buring equity in tournaments we are in when we cant sit in. This is ridicoulous this happens everynight, and I gaurentee you will start losing business because of it

im still waiting on refunds...i dont understand why that process hasnt gotten further along by now...i was told yesterday theyd be done by last nite, last nite that itd be by this morning, this morning by tonite and just now the guy said all the refunds would be done by morning...forgive me if i dont believe this one bit

i do love that the double or nothings are back on the schedule and its starting to get repopulated i just wonder how many of those constant players we have now lost who were dead money...the consequences of the damage of the last several nites is so far beyond just getting our money back for the tourneys that we were kicked out of...and worst of all i was talkin to the customer support and they were asking me for the tourney IDs of the ones im waiting for refunds on and they dont even show up in my tournament history page (which is beyond screwed up if u ever look at it, it has my 12 dollar buy in heads up matches at $180 with 3.75 fees???) because the sngs simply started and about 5 minutes in a message flashed on screen saying it was closed and we were being refunded and the table disappeared? how am i supposed to supply the tournament ID of those

I will try to explain this for the non savvy user:

Let's say you have a bank... and instead of the vault of the bank being in the back behind the tellers & bank staff, the entrance to the vault is on the streets for everyone to see, touch and have their crack at opening. Would you want to keep your money in that vault? You may or may not be able to crack the code for that vault, but the fact that the door is visible to everyone who passes by seems to be a security concern of some sorts.

I decided to answer my own question. Here is my research:. I'm playing on ACR and I do a "netstat -a" in order to find the open connections.

According to PokerScout, it says WPN is located in San Jose, Costa Rica. http://www.pokerscout.com/SiteDetail.aspx?site=Yatahay

You guys feel free to pick up where i left off and add information to this. Any other sysadmins on here wanna pitch in and help find the answers to questions we may want to know the answers to as far as infrastructure goes?

The site you found was temporarily opened while we are troubleshooting the issues we were having during this week. Normally the sites we use are all restricted access and SSL, this one specific portal, due to some internal changes we had to make, it was opened and will be closed again shortly, note, this portal is not used for all the items listed above, while capable of doing that, we are not using it for that purpose so no information would be accessible that could comprimise our players.

We keep our customers data safe and secured, we would not of opened this site if we felt a threat to our network or data, we have enough issues with our providers right now, we wouldnt need any more problems this week!

The info in bold posted are not logins, but simply titles,as it states "http-title" (see: http://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/TITLE.html)

This would be a security concern, we do not need all of our servers and systems publically known to the world, no company does and your self being in I.T would agree to this i am sure. The company / companies you work / have worked for i assume did not publically annouce what they run for hardware / OS's and so on on the backend.

Public facing servers are one thing, and are easily found, as you know and showed above, but outside of that it is important for companies to protect their infrastructure and core systems that keep their buisness running.

Yes and no, you are assuming that the vault even has anything in it to begin with and there are no other vaults or no one is monitoring or watching the vault in the open. And in the end, everyone know there is a vault in the bank, somewhere.....

As with any company, i can't go into details about how we store our information and customers data, but it is safe. With out customers, we have no buisness, so they are certainly our top priority when it comes to data.

I posted this because I care. The reason I care is because we should all have the right to know what we are getting ourselves into when we sign up for sites like this.

I will admit though, I have a filter and theres a lot of stuff I have in my head that I won't post. I do not have malicious intentions at all. I'm one of the good guys and if someone at WPN wants to talk privately about my concerns I haven't voiced here, please do so. Be aware though that if I catch WPN lying to me in PM, I will post the PM logs. It's quite easy to tell when someone in IT is BSing.

There are things about their server's setup that concern me but they don't concern me enough to stop playing there. I'm not convinced that this team has an inhouse development or network infrastructure team therefore this team may not have the kind of onsite support needed to run a stable environment. To me, this WPN network is a patch work of contract gigs being fueled by marketing dollars.
We do appreciate your concern and it has been noted. However, we do infact have an inhouse development team (the ones who bring you all of our promotions and other systems layered on top of the poker client) and I.T team that has been working hard to keep the site running strong due to the issues of our providers as best as they can, there will be many changes in the coming days and weeks that people wont even notice (some already implemented), as most work done in I.T, people never really know what is going on in the back ends, nor care cause it is far too technical it sounds like another language.

The site prior to this week has been running smooth with the only downtimes being for system upgrades and new additions to the software,it just seems multiple things came together with a full moon and the stars aligning causing all these issues during one period.

Here to hoping for a good weekend.

Any issues, PM me.

Still awaiting a refund from a $22 SNG I was playing. I could care less about the money, but what is incredibly annoying is the fact that support has told me it would be taken care of soon after my e-mail on 3 different occasions now over the last few days -- and obviously this hasn't happened.
09-20-2013 , 04:57 PM
hey im just trying to get my posts up so i can send personal message so im posting here, but to contribute a little bit i will say i got faster responses from support this morning and they told me they were working on my refunds but it looks like as of now i got one refund in the form of tourney bucks? which they need to switch over to cash because i play mainly SNGS and did nothing to deserve tourney bucks, and the other refund still waiting on....i have confidence they will resolve it i just dont like this wait
09-20-2013 , 04:59 PM
and by the way does anyone know how many posts i need before i can PM someone
09-20-2013 , 06:05 PM
fwiw live chat support told me yesterday while i was trying to cancel a cashout / redeposit that it wouldn't be ag ood idea to put money back onto the site for the time being. pretty sure his response was something very close to "lol, i wouldn't deposit today just yet"

and it seems the servers went down at least temporarily a few hours later. sucks i enjoyed playing here even w/ the disparate mtt schedule. the debit card cashout is seriously the nuts for me. no bank account can't evne cash checks, the debit card is really the best thing for me.
09-20-2013 , 06:14 PM
ya that debit card option looks enticing...how long did it take after u applied for it to arrive

IIRC it's something like 10 posts plus X amount of days. I think it's 10 posts and a month, but I could be wrong.
