was able to get this working, i requested assistance via live chat and was informed that clearing my cookies and browser cache (which i did) and making sure my flash player and java script were up to date (which i didn't do, computer is fairly new and idk how to check if they're up to date manually hah) should work; and my cashier is now working again.

+1 to what everyone said here. I am also getting the "black cashier of death," but I've had it for the last two weeks on and off. The only way I can get it to work is by following the steps you followed Ship.
However, as soon as I close the client again and reopen it, my cashier is black again. It won't work again unless I reset my browser and do a fresh install of BCP. Needless to say, this is getting very frustrating.
Edit - I am having this problem on 3 separate computers. For reference, all of these computers are close to brand new and running Windows 10.
