Bring back the old satellite schedule! Bring back the old satellite schedule!

This is for Winning_TD -- I appreciate you engaging the players and listening to our feedback. But talking at the tables I know I am not alone in my disappointment over recent changes to satellites:

For as long as I have played on WPN (over a year) until last month, nearly all non-rebuy satellites needed only 4 players to run. This included many 3 seat gtd's. Now, there are hardly any 3 seat gtd satellites scheduled, and if they are, they require six or more runners!!! Thus, they almost never run.

There also used to be many rebuy satellites with 6 seats gtd -- these no longer exist except for the 12.5k -- and have been replaced by 3 seat gtd rebuys with 6 or 9 minimum entrants. Again, these rarely or never run.

Most of the time, all of these would hit or approach the guarantee, and add players to tournaments.

I also don't like the changes to hypers -- now double or more the buyins they used to be, with sometimes again 6 minimum entrants. I know the thinking behind all of this -- to protect against overlays -- but it merely results in nothing running and therefore fewer entrants into the tourneys!!!

For example, why can't there be hourly 3 seat gtd satellites to the 15k, that rotate hourly with a 5 or 6-seat rebuy? This would help with the constant overlay. In the past, there also was a daily 5 seat rebuy to the 100k. This almost never hit the guarantee, but only because it was a $5 buyin. Up it to $11 or something, but I don't see why this can't return.

But the bottom line is, beyond the decline in the offerings, the new minimum requirements has only resulted in fewer satellites running. 3 seat re-entry tournaments almost never end early, whether it starts with 4 or not, so why the change? It has only killed action.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing back. And anyone who agrees with me -- please add your input!

The main reason for the change in terms of minimum players in the super sats is because we dont ever reach a guarantee. We are losing near enough a full seat in every single super sat that runs. We may aswell just give the seat away. I look at the overlay reports and per month how much we lose on these is beyond your belief let me tell you. I cannot justify them running when we are just losing too much. I am sorry people are not happy with the changes but my job is to create good schedules, try and keep as many players happy as i can and also not to bring a bigger overlays each month.

I will keep saying this. Until we get to where we want to be and where i think we will be soon. I cannot have all these different tournaments running every hour. We are just too small right now but doing alot of good things to become bigger and bigger.

With regards to the $15k i am coming up with a 10 seat guarantee R/A daily.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate the insight. A couple things...

-When you say super sat, do you mean those small .50 and .90-cent satellites? I'm not concerned with those really, though looking at it, of those that have run lately have easily exceeded the guarantee. Also, 8 minimum entrants basically means it will never run (for the 50k super sat).

-Great to hear about the 15k. I also see that 5 seat r/a's are scheduled, but with 9 minimum entrants??? I understand why, but it seems like 6 is enough to ensure it doesn't end early, while giving players like me a chance that the tourney actually runs. 9 is VERY difficult to reach at the start time for any tournament, but that doesn't mean it won't end up with 20+ runners at the end of rebuy period. Could you atleast give it a try and see?

-The 12.5K 6 seat r/a's now require 9 entrants from the start as well. Again, very difficult to achieve from the start. These used to never require more than 6 even after everything else was changed.

-I don't think an extra minimum is needed at all for re-entry satellites (e.g. 12.5K 3 seat GTD, with 6 minimum). 4 should be enough, as opposed to 6 or 9. Typically, they will reach at least 20 entrants (for 3 seats) and if not cover usually get very close. But as is the case with all of these, very few run because of the high minimum entrants.

I certainly understand your concerns, I guess I just wish we could find some middle ground where players could still find some value in satellites and the site could be satisfied as well. I just think some of these minimums are excessive and hope you reconsider. Thanks.

+1, I would also like to see a $35-$50 buy in sattie to the 50 and 100k with at least 10 min blinds and maybe 2hr late registration.

TD -- Just wanted to comment on, for example, the timing of several of today's satellites. I think when some of the BIG10 tourneys were moved up an hour, the corresponding satellites did not. For example, there is a 3 Seat GTD to 10K $109 at 7:45PM -- 15 minutes prior to the tourney starting -- that used to be an 1:15 prior. There also is, for example, a rebuy satellite to the $30+3 4k GTD that starts when the tourney is already in progress. It is because it used to feed into a tourney that started 2 hours later. Thanks for everything you're doing.
