I don't know what the **** this executable is trying to do, but it needs to be fixed, pronto. I frequently can't log in to your site for 10 minutes at a time, yet the program is still running. What is it doing?

It acts an awful lot like MALWARE
10-31-2013 , 02:58 PM
yea i'm getting this same thing.... anyone know what's going on yet or what to do?

Having the same problem suddenly.

In VirtualBox, I can't login at all. it seems that none of the submit buttons recognize a click event.

I even tried rebooting the machine entirely, but it had no effect.

Any ideas?

still happening for me. I downloaded a new executable and uninstalled/reinstalled. No effect.

What this appears to be is a certificate issue, your computer is attempting to contact the issuer of our SSL certificate(s), but it can't. So now because it is a Windows "window" pooping up to give a warning, it comes up behind the software and can not be selected using alt+tab option

For those having issue, can you open the software but not click on any buttons for 1-2 mins just to see if the issue stops or if you see the following window

This is the issue that has happened for people:

“It can also mean that the security certificate is valid but the CRL distribution point is unavailable.”

Fixes:
http://www.brighthub.com/internet/se...es/82291.aspx#

They can try the below to fix it:
1. Confirm that your system clock and time zone settings are correct.
2. Open Internet Explorer (even if you normally use another browser) and [click the Alt button to show the toolbar menu], then navigate to Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > Clear SSL State button
3. Follow this link and click the "Microsoft Fix It" button.
4. Run the MicrosoftFixit50191.msi that was downloaded in step 3.
5. The installer will prompt you to restart your computer. Please do so now for the changes to take effect.

Still no luck following those steps. On a Macbook running OSX 10.6.8, the latest version of VirtualBox with guest OS Windows XP SP3.

Update:

If you drag the black small login box out of the way, you can find the security certificate warning.

Note that it doesn't look like it can be moved since it doesn't have a toolbar or anything.

Hopefully this helps someone else.

I have asked our Development team if there is any way at all for the certificate window to not appear where it does, or if this is an issue with windows it's self, hopefully i will get some news back and we can go from there.

Also once you see the certificate window, you can click on View Certificate, and click Install, this should stop the issue from occurring again.

i've done this 2 times now - it doesn't fix it for me. I just have to alt tab every time I open BCP because it opens it right behind my client and alt + tabbing is the only way to get the window to pop up to the front.

I run windows vista - the install doesn't seem to be saving for some reason.

Has anyone been able to fix this issue? My other laptop crashed so I have an older one that I run XP on and am getting the same problem. Tried the solution offered up earlier in the thread and still nothing. I click on install certificate and nothing happens. Anyone able to use this software on XP?

I've notified BChip about this through support at least 3 times in the past 3 weeks or so and their answer is always the same - "we're working on it and it should be fixed shortly". It's been going on since a system upgrade about 3 weeks ago. Now, given that the IT rep is just becoming aware of it, I guess that's all been bullspit

When the freezing message appears if you're quick you can hit the bottom left button to proceed despite the faulty certificate. Otherwise you have to use Windows Task Manager (alt-ctrl-del) to close Black Chip and start all over. Real pain in the arse

That only lets me in that one time. Next time I try to log in I am frozen out and won't have a chance to even select "View Certificate". I have to use Task Manager to close the program and start all over.

This all started with a program update several weeks ago - never saw any form of this issue prior to that.

I have done some modifications to our back end to try and get around this issue for people on Windows XP or those using older versions of IE (v7 or lower)

For those who were having problems, please try again and let me know if the problem persists.

You should start a new thread with your issue or post in the software improvement thread.

Because your post is not related to the original post made here about security certificates, thus it is likely to be lost in the forums as people will not come to this thread looking for issues relating to what you posted.

Also we have a dedicated thread for software improvements that are checked by other people, which wont be checked in here.

If you have sent in emails to support and not received responses, please provide me your email address and i can follow up.
