I've been getting a dashboard failure on my Coinbase acct tonight. The timing of it is weird as I had no problems logging in but once I received coins the dashboard failed and I can't see anything in my acct. if anyone has experienced anything similar or knows what's up let me know.

I received some coin a few days ago and had some glitchyness when opening my wallet. I saw on their site they have been having problems, I did end up receiving my coin but to a couple hours to be available compared to the normal time which is about 15 min.

Do bitcoin deposits always have large fees like this? Tried to deposit 4k USD, it wanted $4,072 worth of btc. Not paying $72 in deposit fees for an option that should lower fees/costs for everyone.

What do you mean? There isn't any fees, what most likely happened was that WPN's current BTC price was different than w/e exchange you were using. Sometimes it's in your favor, sometimes it's in theirs, all kind of works out in the end. One thing to be careful of is the timing of your withdraws so you don't lose hundreds of dollars in fluctuation.

Blockchain is a WALLET. Holds/transfers bitcoins. Coinbase and Circle are EXCHANGES. Converts bitcoins to dollars and vice versa.

So, I refused to pay $72 in fees for a deposit, and deposited $1k instead as a test. I figured they might possibly credit the $18 in fees on the backend, since every major exchange priced the bitcoin I sent at $1,018 instead of $1,000. I was wrong.

Absolutely insane they charge 1.8% for bitcoin deposits. They should be giving a discount if anything.

Like someone said above, there isn't a fee for bitcoin.

Also, there is a difference in buying and selling price of Bitcoin.

I've been in industries related to bitcoin for 4 years now. I am well-aware of how it works, and I have worked with several companies that do USD-bitcoin conversions. The difference between the buy and sell price for bitcoin is typically around .1%.

WPN is charging between a 1.4% and 2% fee on bitcoin deposits(Ex: You want to deposit $1k worth of bitcoin, they charge you $1,014 worth) Anyone here can go and look for themselves. This is utterly ridiculous and I refuse to believe there is any reason why they are charging this fee other than purely to try and profit from a deposit method with near-zero fees.

Well, if that is the case then it is a new policy by them. Have deposited multiple times and have always been charged the going rate on btc with no fee

This has prolly been answered before, but I havnt played in a while and now trying to play. I deposited onto my circle account and then went to get the address from my blockchain to send it to and when I copied the address into circle it said it would no longer accept that. That I need to type a name or email address. What am I missing here? Can you not use circle anymore for deposits and withdrawls?
01-21-2017 , 11:35 AM
That is correct. Most folks now use Coinbase.

i have never used bitcoin before, but am attempting to give it a go to cash out of wpn. i read the initial post in this thread and set up an account at blockchain.

i ran into problems when i got to the second step of setting up an account at circle or coinbase. both are telling me they are not available in my country (i'm american but living in japan). i'm not sure how i should proceed. ultimately, i'll be sending the money i cash out of wpn to my u.s. bank account anyway. that being the case, should i just use a vpn and open an account at one of those sites as if i were in the u.s.? if i did this, would it cause any trouble with wpn since i have my address in japan registered with them? or is it irrelevant since it first goes through blockchain first?

i don't know if the above option would be legal. if not, could anyone recommend a different site that serves someone in my location?

Is there any alternative to CoinBase?
01-24-2017 , 11:13 AM
Kraken Perhaps?

does it normally take forever to send from blockchain to coinbase? its been hours now and still pending for me, takes like a min to go from coinbase to block though

You can just get mediahint or hola to change your browser location site by site (fantastic for things like US netflix, pandora etc.) rather than having to VPN. You'll need US info to make a coinbase account. Also you're correct it won't matter to ACR because it is going to a blockchain first (not sure it'd matter either way if you explained situation).

What exchange/median price are you using?

I'm going to deposit using blockchain, do i have to add any fees into the amount that ACR tells me to send, or do I just send the exact amount they ask for. I know there is a miners fee, but I don't know if they charge that separate from the amount you send or not.

There isn't any fees, send exactly what they ask for. It may be slightly off depending on what rate they have compared to the one you have from wherever you sent from.
