Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

Complete new to this, could someone please explain to me when the miners fee is taking out?

If I wanted to deposit $100 to ACR would I need to get more than $100 from my bank? Or does the fees get taken out after all the transactions are complete, by the time I deposit $100 into my account I will just have $99.xx after its complete?

Thanks for response!

When u sent btc via a wallet u need to include a miner fee, which is in addition to the amount u sent.

Will this fee be automatically included in the amount to transfer?

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

I only did 1 transaction and I didn't see any miners fee. It was 1% to buy bitcoin fee and then I transferred the exact amount of bitcoin I was told to in the deposit screen for poker.

Maybe any fee is included but you will see it on coinbase(if that is what you are using).

Don't even THINK of sending ACR ANYTHING. These IDIOTS don't allow bitcoin withdrawal and have NO EXPLANATION so I'm starting to suspect they are insolvent liars.

You will NEVER see your money again.

The "mining fee" is a small amount of bitcoin that you add to your transaction to ensure that it is verified by the network more quickly.

The amount recommended varies, but .0001btc should be enough... which is only like 2.5 cents.

So if you are sending .5 bitcoin to WPN for example, you would send .5btc + .0001btc fee = .5001btc total needed.

Coinbase automatically pays the mining fee for you though, so when you are sending from there to your own separate wallet you don't have to worry about it.

You only need to add a fee when you then send from your own wallet to WPN. Scroll back thru the last few pages to see the process of how that works.

WPN gives you an exact amount of bitcoin that you need to send when you deposit. And that number won't be known until you are actually ready to send your bitcoin.

Because of varying exchange rates the $100 you buy from Coinbase might not be the exact amount required for a $100 deposit to WPN.

Right now, buying $100 on Coinbase might give you 0.3875btc. But when you go to deposit on ACR and type in $100, it might tell you to send 0.3952btc.

So you'll want to buy $100 from Coinbase, and then when ready to deposit on ACR you'll have to adjust the dollar amount until you get close to the amount of bitcoin you have.

For example - you might need to type in a deposit on WPN of $98.40 or $102.60 to get the number they are asking for to match the amount of bitcoin you have, including the mining fee.

Hopefully that all makes sense.

I have no idea why/how people are having trouble with bitcoin.

I've done about a dozen transactions, both directions, and had no problems at all.

I play mostly live, and I haven't made a deposit or withdrawl online in quite a while, so I can't speak about how the site handles moving money around. I will say that in the current environment, you have to be careful.

For most players (those that don't play 10 or more tables at a time, weekend warriors) you don't need all of your bankroll online. With a 100 BI bankroll to play MTTs, you probably don't need to have more than half of it online. I have less than 1/3 of my Americas Cardroom bankroll online.

There is another advantage to keeping some of your bankroll off the site. If there is a reload bonus, just move more of your bankroll online.

You might sometimes want to put more of your bankroll online for special cirumstances or promotions, for example, if you have a week or more vacation from work and you want to use it to grind 12 tables 10 hours a day, or if you want to compete in a leaderboard contest. In cases like this you will want more of your bankroll online in case of a downswing.

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

I made a test bitcoin withdrawal yesterday morning, but haven't received yet. The money was immediately deducted from my ACR balance, but no confirmation email or pending status in 24 hrs (or I don't know where to look).

Very shady if they don't create a record at the time of transaction.

Found the record of my request and talked to support. It appears that you get the amount of bitcoin when you're approved.

Got an email today saying that I should be able to withdraw via bitcoin, so I tried and AGAIN IT WAS REJECTED.

AVOID ACR LIKE THE PLAGUE. THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG WITH THIS CARDROOM.

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

Ugh:

Jonathan .:
How may I help you?

12:36CoinTheCoin:
I'd like to know how fast a Bitcoin withdrawal will take

12:39Jonathan .:
Though the option it's been temporarily unavailable since our bitcoin processors are going through maintenance.

12:40CoinTheCoin:
Really? When will it be available?

12:40Jonathan .:
Since we do not know exactly how long is it going to take to be back up I would want to generate false expectations to you.

12:40CoinTheCoin:
So how will I be able to withdraw now?

12:42Jonathan .:
You can withdraw using any other of our cashout methods, Sir.

12:43CoinTheCoin:
Yes, but I deposited with bitcoin

12:43CoinTheCoin:
and it's quite hard to get Bitcoin without paying big fees

12:44CoinTheCoin:
Can you give me an estimated time on when the maintenance will be completed?

12:47Jonathan .:
Though we dont have an exact ETA, it could take a couple of hours or days. I can feel free to use a different option,

12:4CoinTheCoin:
Ok. A few days isn't that bad

12:47Jonathan .:
It doesnt matter you initially deposited with that method.

12:47CoinTheCoin:
I know this. What i'm saying is that I deposited because I wished to increase my bitcoin

12:48CoinTheCoin:
Not lose all my bitcoin

12:48CoinTheCoin:
and have to transfer it to US currency when I'm Canadian

12:50CoinTheCoin:
It's ok. Thank you

Received the cashout this morning and it was for the amount at the time of request (Support told me otherwise yesterday). (BTC was worth ~$240 and it's climbed to ~$275). So nice to know that they honored the lower price.

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

ACR finally xferred me bitcoin for cashout. It had to be done via a manual request and took 72 hours. But I did get the xfer. The exchange rate didn't happen to change alot during those 72 hours so I don't know when exactly they made the conversion.

Conclusion: ACR is not ready for bitcoin withdrawal by a damn site. I wouldn't touch bitcoin with them going forward until they've proven they got it down seamlessly. All the other withdrawal methods have major fees and take forever.

Are you sure about this? I play mostly live since Black Friday, so I haven't withdrawn or deposited in quite a while. But the last I heard, withdrawal by check (snail mail) was free once a month. Can someone clarify this?

Also, I have heard some things about players cashing out from Euro sites having trouble getting their bank to cash the checks. I would appreciate comments from anyone with knowledge of this situation as well.

I think you can get a check, but the rep said it takes a long time to get it in the mail and you may run into cashing problems. As for the fees, I'm not 100% sure it's free. Debit card carries a $25 initial fee + $5 a month charge.

It sounds then like debit card is the only good option. The one-time debit card fee is better than a check that my bank won't cash. I don't know what the check looks like, but a couple years ago my teller had to get help because she didn't know what to do with a Canadian check--which I thought was strange, since my state (Michigan) borders Canada, and the check was in US dollars.

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

Do we have to deposit using bitcoin before we're allowed to withdraw with this option? I've never used owned or used bitcoin before and know very little about it but I wanted to hold onto some and have a bit of extra money on the network. How would I go about getting them for the first time? Could I find a bitcoin wallet, sign up, and request a withdrawal to that wallet?

Re: Bitcoin Announcement!!

Go to coinbase.com and use that for your wallet. You can read up on some stuff there.

you just sign up and link your bank account and within a day or 2 you can verify your bank account and be ready to go.

They also have live chat on there so you can fire all you questions at them and get answers right away.

From everything I've seen before, you don't need to have deposited with bitcoin in order to withdraw bitcoin.

If you're new to Bitcoin you can read up on some good basic info at:

Bitcoin.org and Blockchain.info/wallet/support-pages
