Wierd. I've never used Circle, but if the 1% fee isn't too much for you, Coinbase is an option.

Hmmm, I tried to see if I could find anything on that but no luck. Not sure what the reason would be. Haven't seen or heard of that myself.

Have you tried again?

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

Question for the experts for cashing out ACR: I created an account on circle, linked my bank account, and generated an address to send funds. Transferred funds directly from ACR to Circle with generated address, however, am now finding out I should have sent them to blockchain 1st ,then to circle. I did all of this about 20 minutes ago and havent seen anything in my Circle account and the money has since left my ACR account. Should I expect this transfer not to work since I skipped the blockchain part or will it go through? If it wouldnt transfer will my funds be put back into ACR?? Any advice is appreciated

You should be fine, expect it to go through. This is normal with any withdraw method, check/debit card/bitcoin etc... the moment you click the button your account balance goes down, although the site will take time to review/approve/process it. If there is ever some problem support will help and you get the $ back into your account, but again I wouldn't worry about the bitcoin showing up to the address you gave them to send to. Processing takes 1 business day per their current policy, but you may well see it as early as 2-3 hours. If there's any issue they should contact you.

Transfer will likely be fine.. I just wouldn't recommend forgetting that middle step in the future.

It was something with my credit union. Added a different bank and it went through fine today.

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

Did my first deposit with Bitcoin yesterday. Was quick and easy. Like someone else said prior it took longer to set up all the accounts than to get money onto ACR. (was available within 5 minutes) Highly recommended!

I used Bank>Circle>Blockchain>Poker fwiw

The problem is that Circle doesn't want to process gambling transactions.

If Circle recognizes it as having come from ACR they may close your Circle account.

Has anyone received an email like this? I'm going to be as generic and vague as I can get away with.

I would ignore that email for now since it says "respond at your convenience" and right now it's not convenient for you.

Awesome, thanks for posting.

I love checking this thread and seeing that more people have tried out bitcoin for the first time.

And thanks to everyone that has been helping out. It's so cool to come in here and see that the questions are already answered.

I got that email and I literally said, the money came from my block chain wallet. The purpose of the transfers was to withdraw it to my bank account and that my occupation was a student(maybe like 10% true). They seemed happy with those answers.

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

I have a player to player transfer question......Can someone on BCP do a player to player transfer to someone on ACR where they are on the same network? Or is it only allowed within each of the skins on the network?

Thanks!

Did you transfer directly to/from Circle from a poker site?

I'm thinking the email Circle sends out is just standard. I got it today as well and have only done 2-3 transactions. I just deleted it.

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

Hi,

It is a pleasure to be a part of this board. I Would really appreciate any info/help on the following issue I am having.

The site I used to deposit roughly 250 over the course of 2-3 weeks in 20 dollar increments I just read have gotten busted for some reason. Something about unlawful business. The transactions are going to show up on my bank statement. Am I going to get in trouble, or go to jail? Is my life over?

Thanks.

Lol no. They defendants in the link you provided seem to have been running a money laundering operation involving bitcoins, in addition to a few other things. Simply using their service for legitimate purposes is not a crime.

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

Well I wouldn't go so far as to say depositing USD for BTC to put on poker site is legitimite but im no criminal, im a good citizen. I opened a savings account this morning, because I'm moving into a brand new apt in a brand new building that was just finished being built. I don't want this bad addiction of mine to compromise my entire life.

Thnx for alleviating my anxiety though.

I did want to participate in the "million warmup" series next week. I was just going to go back to using WU since I've never had issues with them or heard of them having issues with the law, but just in case, I guess Circle is a legit alternative for BTC? Thnx..

Re: Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

Has anyone noticed that Circle's quote of BTC price is always a little bit more than what most other tickers say? When I move money from WPN to my bank via Circle I always end up profiting about 1%. Perhaps they do this because more people buy BTC on Circle than sell? If Coinbase's business model includes charging a fee, maybe Circle inflates the price of BTC to compensate.

Yes, Circle is a legit alternative.

The site you were using was raided because they were operating a bitcoin exchange without being registered and having money transmitter licenses.

Circle is completely legal, US based, is registered and has all of their required licenses. That's why they are forced to send out those questions asking people where their money came from.

Whenever I have checked I've always found Circle to be a slightly better deal on both sides... a little cheaper when buying and a little higher when selling.

It may fluctuate at different times though, so if someone really cared about getting the best deal you can take a few seconds to check both. And it's a good idea to have accounts set up on both sites ahead of time as a backup anyway.
