Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws Bitcoin Deposits and Withdraws

It becomes stressful when there's a sudden crash in the price while a transaction is pending. My first deposit to Coinbase (didn't know about Circle yet) took nearly a week and in that time the price was all over the place. Plus with their fee, forget it. But luckily it shot right back up just before I got it onto WPN and I actually made a few bucks lol.

I try to bang out the transactions as quickly as possible to avoid any fluctuations. Once your money is within the BTC universe transfers are near instantaneous, but when going from site to wallet or wallet to bank, you're at the mercy of the process, and even then you might not be right at your computer when it goes through.

Still, BTC is far and away the best way to move money around and for the life of me I cannot understand why other sites don't use it.

I just popped my bitcoin cherry and now have funds on blockchain. How long will it take to show up on my account once I deposit on acr?

I think it's usually less than an hour.

Ok, I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, made my first ever withdrawal using Bitcoin from BCP, small test transaction of $25 minimum went through fine to my Blockchain wallet, sent from there to my never before used verified Circle account, it all took around 40-45 minutes total. Then went to withdraw money to my verified linked account, which I used my BlueBird direct deposit account for instead of a traditional bank account and they instantly closed my Circle account during the process, lol. Will contact Circle tomorrow during business hours to find out why and how I can get me Bitcoins off there.

In certain states Coinbase now has "US Dollar Wallets" that allow you to pre-load money on to your Coinbase account.

That way you can transfer money from your bank to Coinbase -> wait a few days for the deposit to show up -> then buy bitcoin and they'll give it to you instantly. Then you're able to send it right to WPN and you'll have virtually no exposure to the exchange rate.

Hmm, that's odd. Definitely interested to see what their reason is. Good luck.

Why would sending from 3 wallets cause an issue ?
Can you let us know what site that was ?
I recently did this, and had no issues, but apparently there are risks.

Just saying.

yea, this confuses me too. I have yet to fully attempt the withdraw, but that "register your account" field I still don't understand - How do you "register" it, and what does "new account" refer to ?

I tried to send from one WPN skin to another, it didn't work. WPN demands a deposit to be an exact bitcoin amount, but you can only withdraw a dollar amount, so no way to match the bitcoin amount for deposit.

Interesting. I am a BTC newbie as well, and perhaps a rookie move here, but I withdrew from one site, and just put the address of my Betcoin deposit address, and the process went super smooth !

I was shocked to get an immediate e-mail from the original site, verifying the withdrawal ( no security check or any other B.S.), and minutes later got an email from Betcoin indicating they received the funds and were available in my account for play at the tables. It was for a small amount, just $4 or so USD worth of btc......but I was super impressed with the process.

I guess I never considered any potential risk, but I was successful in moving a small amout of BTC from one site to another w/out any intermediary step.

BTW........why are there minimum deposit amounts of a digital currency ?

They may have changed it now, but WPN had been rejecting deposits if the transaction came from multiple addresses. Not sure why though.

The difference with depositing to WPN is that they require you to deposit a specific BTC amount, and you only have a limited window to do it in. So if the site you're withdrawing from takes too long it won't work.

Also, if anything goes wrong and the site you're depositing to needs to issue a refund they will send it to the same address that they received from. You need that to be your address that you control, and not another site's withdrawal address.

Yeah, I think you're still within the standard window.

Awesome tip! I'll have to dig around on which states are allowed.
Edit: found it here and here for circle

This is actually pretty troubling. Sounds like you did everything the right way and is exactly what I had planned too. But did you make sure to use a fresh address when you withdrew? Do you know if the $25 was confiscated? What happens anyway when Circle/Coinbase close your account? Do they have the right to seize the funds?

Are there any credit cards that don't charge a fee to buy bitcoin?

Well apparently I'm not just running bad at the tables right now but in general because Circle CS has just informed me they won't be able to offer me an account at this time and will not tell me the details of this decision. They will be contacting me by the end of the day to discuss how to obtain my Bitcoins.

I suppose the address was fresh because it was the first time I ever used it/generated them. "Them" being the one I used from Blockchain to receive funds from BCP and the one generated for Circle to send from Blockchain to there. Maybe I missed some step, should have changed the sending Blockchain address before sending to Circle but not sure if that's even possible, then again, maybe it had something to do with linking my BlueBird card direct deposit account vs a traditional bank account. No way to know without Circle providing specifics though.

Also from what I've read on internet searches, it seems fairly standard for Circle to allow closed accounts an opportunity to withdraw their balance at some point. I expect that's what will happen with me before the end of the day, withdraw my Bitcoins back to my wallet and figure out what to do with them from there.

Last Update: They did allow me to withdraw my balance out just now. Not sure but this may have all stemmed from me simply not understanding how to withdraw correct amounts, causing my account to somehow be flagged for overdraft by the system.

What I mean is, when trying to withdraw from my Circle account to my bank account I received a message that I was exceeding the amount of bitcoin/balance available in my Circle account, even though I was typing in the exact amount shown in my balance, after this happening twice that's when my account was closed last night. Once they reopened my account just now to allow me to withdraw my balance, I initially could not because the account was saying it was overdrafted. I called CS and they reset the account back to normal status and the same thing happened again with regard to trying to withdraw the exact amount to the penny/bitcoin decimal, resulting in receiving an error messages for trying to withdraw more than the available balance. So this time I just withdrew for an amount slightly less than the balance (Circle account balance was $25.24 so I withdrew $25.00) and the transaction went through without issue. So basically just don't do anything to get your account noticed or reviewed if possible.

Recap: When withdrawing/sending money from Circle account, do so for a slightly less amount, probably no more then .05-.10 less, to make sure the account isn't inadvertently flagged for an overdraft.

Ahhh yeah, Circle is weird like that when you're trying to withdraw your full balance.

The problem comes up because they keep updating the exchange rate in real time in very small increments. So when you type in that you want to withdraw $25.24, by the time you hit enter your bitcoin might only be worth $25.22 and you'd be 0.0001 BTC short.

I believe the way around that is to type in how much you want to withdraw in bitcoin instead of dollars. You can switch between the two by hitting the green USD button.

That should allow you to type in and withdraw your full bitcoin balance.

So in the end you were able to withdraw your bitcoin back to your Blockchain wallet?

I tried that too, putting in the exact amount of bitcoin vs the dollar amount, same result at that time, message about trying to withdraw more than the available balance. Maybe others will be okay taking every last penny out but I wasn't and it apparently caused my account to be flagged or whatever for review due to being overdrawn or attempting to overdraw. Just wanted to give others the heads up and hope it helps them avoid a potential similar issue.

Also, yes, I was able to withdraw $25 back to my wallet, I just left the $0.24 in the Circle account, which they will close for good at some point shortly.

Ah ok, thanks for the heads up. Will definitely make sure to watch for that in the future.

Well that sucks, sorry about your account. But at least you were able to get your bitcoin withdrawn. That does seem to be standard - if they ever close your account they do let you keep your money.

And fortunately now we have both Coinbase and Circle so that if one closes your account you should still have access to the other.
05-14-2015 , 08:25 PM
If the true reason of your account closure was due to a technical/user interface error on their part, you did nothing wrong and the end result is nothing short of draconian.
05-14-2015 , 08:29 PM
so ive been wondering why do i need a blockchain account along with a Circle account?
05-14-2015 , 08:31 PM
Restrictions on gambling transactions
05-14-2015 , 08:56 PM
okay just made a circle account and a blockchain account and did a test $10 from bank account to circle to blockchain to acr. Looks like this might be pretty easy to use.

Make sure to always use a fresh address when withdrawing from gambling sites. And for that matter when moving from circle to blockchain.

Yeah, it would be helpful if they told you what their reason was.

If it's because of the withdrawal amounts that's pretty crazy. You didn't do anything wrong and they were never at risk of being harmed. They should just decline the transaction and say "you don't have that much".

Since it looks like you did everything correctly passing the withdrawal from WPN through a separate address it seems unlikely it was because of "gambling".

It may have had to do with trying to withdraw to your BlueBird card... maybe they see that as being some sort of risk. But even then it would be nice if they just told you.

Awesome Seeing more people willing to try it out and use bitcoin makes me excited.

Good point. Creating a new address is as quick and easy as clicking a button.

And there are effectively an infinite number of possible addresses, so you don't have to worry about using too many or anything.

That was just me speculating and putting as much info out there as possible for people to avoid, like endthefed stated though, could have been due to me not linking an actual bank account. I did an internet search and read where someone used Bluebird for Coinbase initially but it was later rejected. Apparently they didn't get their account closed though, just had to link a different bank account.

I guess the main thing is to do everything as correctly as possible to avoid giving Circle or any other such company reason to review your account or pay any attention to it, unlike me.

I put in for a bitcoin debit card, to hopefully bypass needing to withdraw to a bank account at all so I'll see how that goes and report back.

In your Blockchain wallet you'll click on the "Recieve Money" tab, and there will be a list of all of the addresses you control. At the bottom of the list is a green button that says "New Address".

You can generate as many new addresses as you want, and give them labels to help keep track.

And if you want to clear an old one off the list there's an "Actions" dropdown... selecting "Archive" hides it from the list, but you still control it and can bring it back.
