Continuing to test and flesh out an idea I've been toying around with. I'm going to be tracking several tournaments on WPN this weekend and the top 40 players in each one will get points recorded by me and updated here.

(40th = 1 pt thru 1st = 40 pts)

The player with the most points after all events tracked is the Weekend Warrior for this weekend. You don't win anything more than the title of Weekend Warrior, except maybe for some bragging rights and some adulation from me.

Here are the tournaments that will count toward the Weekend Warrior 'standings' this weekend (all times EST):

Saturday 10/24 CLICK HERE FOR SATURDAY RESULTS

10pm: $3,000 GTD Turbo Megastack ($22) COMPLETED (winner: stickyaces)

7pm: $1,000 GTD Hyper Turbo ($10.50)

You don't have to do anything; I will be entering results in this post as each event ends. You can discuss/brag/rag on each other in the thread if you're playing, though (normal forum rules regarding posting still apply).

I will be playing in some of these too, so come KO me and get my easy chips. :P

I actually like this and looks fun like heck... im not ranting but if the tournies were 1 hour late...

If acr wants to.put something like that for.the top.5 players who.bubble the gi60 in genneral or the micro,s...

I think.that would give us frustrated recs some fun instead of just being frustrated...

It could.be for points that dont expire and you.could buy a hat ot an acr tee shirt or acr laptopbag... or whatever...

But just make sure its for the low volume or rec players or the upper guys will.just figure out a way to do "what they do"..

Im seriously WPN.. it might sound laughable to these other guys but it really isnt for the 9/5pm day jobs who.play poker..

And its free advertising. Which is a frustration for poker sites......

But.just make sure its a micro/low thing or a gi60 thing..

Nothing that will upset your grinders but give us a little more fun...

In a post a couple of day ago. U asked me for suggestions for recs and low volume players.

^^ Kinda why I didn't include the $500k GTD and other big buy-in MTT's. Actually had some smaller events originally (I literally have notepad files out the wazoo), but this is a good sample for now.

Your definatly on too something!
Something for the day job guys.. micro/low/gi60.

I saw the ceo explain how dificult it is to advertise.
Bubble boy points or something..that is not impossible for a rec to do...win/win

Im not smart enouph but your definitely on to something. I noticed your selection and . I!!!!! Was actually tempted..

P.s. acr current hat, hoodie ect doesnt display there website good enouph.. you would only know if you already knew...

Basically u have a very good idea....

I dont know exactly what it should be tb/points/prizes that advertise, but something the rec and the low volume player could compete against eachother and have fun and a chance..

I only mention.prizes couse that would also benafit acr in advertising. Its an offset for them.

Also all the grinders and bonus whores would not have that much of an insentive to come down off there perch and monopolize it..and acr won't.lose any high/med volume..

It SHOULD also exclude the od and sit n go becouse it would help exclude the grinders that have already manipulated and monopolized the sit n crush..

It should be for the scheduled tournies. It would help with overlays and maybe increase gtd,s.

It truly would be somthing for every level..

The beast is for hard core.

The sit n crush(well, u.know how I feel)

The point system for prizes or something on scheduled tournies in the low/micro..BUT FOR NOT CASHING LIKE FIRST 3 BUBBLE BOYS. NOBODY WOULD AIM FOR THAT BUT EAS THE PAIN..

After not cashing out and depositing for 6 months. I could use a pair of socks that has the website on it..lol its just for the people that play a couple of tournaments a day and we accumulate points for the first 3 or 5 bubble boys..

Once again IHTN is doing something positive for the poker community! Thanks dude, I wish I could participate but have plans this weekend, good luck to everyone planning to chase the title!

I certainly hope you get more enjoyment than stress doing this dude, you are one of the few people who make a difference around here and hope you realize your efforts are appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks, and yeah if work hadn't been so busying this week I might have got this out sooner. Just posted it today as a test run, basically. See how it goes, might add or change up the events that qualify, etc.

Saturday's games updated - sorry, it was after 4:30 in the AM when the last tournament ended (they played heads up forever it seemed...lol).

You have too much time on your hands OP.

I suggest getting a hobby or a girlfriend, definitely a girlfriend.

I have a fiance, actually. I figured since I can't play, I'll teach. Since I can't teach, I track.

I think casuals and recs would increase based on something like this every week. Might not be perfect yet, but maybe one day it will work into something beneficial to players. What's wrong with that?

This is a great idea!!!!

I would do it but there not my type tournaments..

This doesn't affect anything and its fun..

Im almost tempted to do it just to see where I stand against everyone else over a plethora of tournaments(it will make for a fun weekend)

Thanks for your time and effort..

Standings now updated in the OP with link to full ranking from Saturday (PDF).

Still plenty of opportunity to take down the Weekend Warrior title. I was thinking about taking out the $3,500 GTD at 8pm and replacing it with an earlier event, but I'll leave it in for now. Only because the $2,500 GTD at 8pm last night took 8.5+ hours to finish, and I can't stay up that late tonight.

Good luck folks.
10-18-2015 , 01:52 PM
8.5 hours? For 2500gtd! Oh brother...

Shouldn't this thread be about some friendly, healthy competition and not some personal beef you have with IHTN?
10-18-2015 , 04:31 PM

won two tournies this evening (10pm megastack and 9pm 1500 guarantee) I know they aren't included in your standings just thought this was a good place for my micro brag post.

I might actually do more of those next weekend. Still trying to get the sweet spot of tournaments, as staying up to 3-4am on a work night and still not getting the full results ain't going to be a weekly thing for me.
10-19-2015 , 11:42 PM
OP is updated with full results. Take a look and let me know your thoughts about this. Open to changes, different/more tournies, etc etc.

Going to update with a recap tomorrow as well.

Some interesting stats culled from this first run of the Weekend Warrior:

-- The winner, TakeDaBaitFDB, had 5 cashes finishing an impressive 7th, 12th, 20th, 21st, and 47th in the 10 tournaments tracked. The player '?????????????' also had 5 cashes, but couldn't quite match Take's pace with a best score of 27th place finish in the 8pm $2,500 GTD on Saturday.

-- 'SitingOut' had 3 Top 50's but accumulated just 18 points, with a best finish of 38th place in the $7,000 GTD on Saturday.

-- 410 players earned at least one Top 50 finish in the 10 tournaments tracked, with 90 players earning 2 or more cashes in those same events.

-- Of the 10 wins available in the tournaments tracked, 6 of them (10rmc10, bagunga1, ChristinePoker, durg217, Milf_Wrangler, and swampthang71) were from players with only one cash. The other 4 winners (allivaK, CalvinCandy, Cincypoker, and tigertiger) had multiple cashes.

I'd like to eventually do two sets of Weekend Warriors - one for casual type events with lower GTD's/buy-ins, and one for mid-stakes up to high roller buy-ins/GTD's. But that's likely a ways off and probably a few 'mutations' down the road.

I like the Top 50 getting points as it opens it up to a lot more players - and in some events you can miss the cash but still earn points. It's a lot to track, but eventually I'd like to build it up into a thing people look forward to each week. Might be better served to build this on a website and run it there, but for now it's basically a raw idea and I don't think anyone minds it being ran here. At least I hope not.

Fun stuff!

A leaderboard always makes something more fun

Thanks OP

Going to be posting the schedule for this weekend Saturday afternoon.
10-24-2015 , 01:02 PM
The schedule for this weekend is up in the OP: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...90&postcount=1

A few changes - namely, I'm tracking the Top 40 players in every tournament instead of 50. But I've also increased the number of events tracked from 10 to 14. Still trying to find a balance, and WPN made some tourney changes this past week as well.

Feel free to talk some smack here or tell me what you think of the Weekend Warrior idea. Enjoy folks!
