alright so I haven't played either DOTA or LOL, but have watched a few of the big DOTA tourneys over the past few months. This is my first time watching LoL. LoL seems like a dumb rip-off by comparison. What am I missing? Not a troll, just curious.

Dota is the pioneer of the genre.
The game are different in many things, subtle and not subtle.
Lol is in a better place because ultimately it's a better game.
If you'd play it just one week you'll see many differences.

Dota overall is more explosive, I can see why that is more appealing. But oftentimes in Dota it feels like "BOOM FIGHT AND OVER".

I mean they are both MOBAs so there's going to be a lot of similarities. It's like how all first person shooters share similarities but play differently.

Yeah I don't think the flash wolves will be able to kill doublelift in teamfights unless CLG messes up really badly.

These games have so far all been pretty bad (mostly 1 sided stomps) which doesn't help either.

Think we are in for a boring game here. CLG is just trying to scale to late game and make a deathball with Jinx, flash wolves are scared to hard engage b/c of the Ali/Lulu peel. Hopefully I'm wrong and something happens in the next 15 mins.

I wonder if DL can pull this off against teams like EDG or FNC

edit: interesting that production paused the game for this "ward issue" because this has happened multiple times in the regular split
