The issue is that SSW have no weak areas to target bans towards.

No team leaves Alistar open so they pretty much have 2 bans on red side. Ban twitch and who? Lee sin, Jayce, Mao, Thresh... No matter where you place bans SSW are gonna get champs that have a huge effect.

^ya was thinking just that. was initially gonna post that going into worlds i expected twitch to be perma-banned vs the korean teams. but then i realized it's so hard to do that without leaving a buncha strong picks that are basically just as high priority as twitch

I think the problem is not so much that Royal's A+ game is that much worse than White's, but it's more that Royal probably is going to make at least one significant mistake more than White each game.

Yeah this sums it up very well. Its all those small mistakes and outplays that end up forcing the other team to make big mistakes.

I like to bring up Froggen when it comes to this. Rarely does he stomp his opponent but instead gain small calculated advantages throughout the game. Almost always being ahead of his opponent and therefor forcing mistakes.

I dont think this matters much though since SSW are such a superior team with better players(Uzi=Imp) and better tactics in all aspects of the game. I predict a 3-0 stomp no matter how close to their peak Royal plays. Only scenario i can see Royal winning is if SSW comes out with BM first game draft and picks and then panicking after losing the first game.

Crushing level 1 is the way to beat them, SSW would have still beat TSM with that g3 troll comp but they gave up 2 kills and suicided their lanes level 1

Yep. Cheese is pretty much always the best chance of winning when against a clearly superior team/opponent.

SSW ignores Uzi and just dives Ori exploit the lack of summoner and snowball that way.

SSW a full step ahead the entire time, from ban 1 on. Picking Tristana instead of Corki just makes Uzi useless he's not going to get time to ramp up, they need a first item spike ADC for him. Ryze over Maokai same thing, just no time to ramp up. Uzi won't get Lucian this series, so that pretty much leaves Corki as his only option

can Corn play Jayce? seems like a spot where they couldn't ban him and just had to keep him from Pawn

much better pick/ban game 2 for Royal but they still had to concede top lane so SSW will just crush dragon fights and abuse Mundo
