Also, can anyone suggest a support to main? I haven't played support in forever and the only ones I was good at (blitz/taric/ali/soraka) all suck. If I have to play support I usually play like support ashe/gp/panth which is probably not optimal. Thresh always banned so forget him. I guess it comes down to lulu/sona/zyra/janna/nami, so which is easiest for someone with terrible mechanical skills but good gamesense? I'm guessing nami is the most mechanically difficult due to having to land Qs?

the last 5 you listed are all good, blitz and taric are still good though. Also Leona is such a good counterpick to blitz, I think 100% winrate vs blitz when i took her over the last week or two, you just dominate lane so hard.

Blitz is good but always banned silver/gold, same with thresh. Taric seems very subpar to me since all he brings is his stun and mediocre heal, and melee supports seem at such a disadvantage since they can't really harass. I miss his OP aura which made winning lane so easy. Forgot about Leona though. Doesn't she kind of have the same problem as other melee supports in that she can't harass without going balls deep? Leona kind of depends on lvl 2 or 3 hard engages and then lane superiority from what I can tell?

You go all in with Leona. She has really good disengage and peel in lane. It forces them to engage only on your carry because they can't kill you. If your carry watches his position, It's an easy lane.

So. I'm playing Cait. I'm crushing bot, my support is a Nami. She's doing good. I'm up like 70 cs and 4-0-2 on their carry. So, we take tower and we start roaming and pushing towers. We have a Rengar and a Karthus on team. Team fights are going on, we're about 5-10 minutes for winning and I'm 6-1-10 or some double digit number. I have double anyone else's CS and I have been pumping out massive damage. Nami is in team chat asking me if this is my first time on cait and why I don't have more kills and not doing damage. I have ie/pd/lw/bt/berserkers, I'm sure that I am doing enough damage. So I'm like. . I'm carrying, what are you talking about? Nami has 6 kills. So whatever. Game ends, nami has shurelya, sightstone, cdr boots, ga, and thornmail. I don't get it

Taric is boring to play but relatively solid choice, especially if you're relying on game sense, good warding, and so on. Mobility boots w/ stun and such bring in quite a lot for your team.

Sona/Janna are the easiest mechanically of the 5 you mentioned.

Janna is pretty solid, esp since your global aura assists the whole team. All you do is shield and disengage in lane, assisting your AD's farm as much as possible. Your ult neutralizes dive heavy aggression and your kit is fairly basic. Janna plays the vision game as well as anyone once Baron is on the table with her W's passive MS buff. The best thing about Janna is your AD won't feel the need to go nuts for kills in lane with such a low damage support, unless you have a good advantage.

The worst part about Janna is when your AD feels the need to go nuts for kills in lane, you can't really turn it into a winning situation. For that reason I'm a big fan of Leona in low ELO. She's great at setting up ganks with all her CC, and also very strong in situations where your carry goes all in.

Might just spam support games on my alt til end of season, contrary to the opinion of the unwashed masses support seems like one of the best positions to carry with in low elo. Since most people hate playing support and usually get "stuck" with it, are unexperienced, and suck, if you actually enjoy and have some skill at supporting you can capitalize on mistakes, wreck their bot lane, get your ADC fed, ward whole map, win.

I'm going to try to bust out at least 30 games in my smurf this weekend with xp/ip boosts on sale. He's level 21, hopefully I can make a good run at 30. I wanna tank this dude's elo, I think. I'm not quite sure yet.

so i won 10 in a row and got paired with trolls multiple times.

I haven't played bot lane in ages. Last time I played I was like silver 5 or something. I might try to play adc and support only on my smurf for a while to get it up to par.

Yeah, leona is strong in lane but risky cause like you said she doesn't have any options besides all in. If you get unlucky with a timing and their jungler ganks at the perfect time you're just screwed. And I absolutely despise playing her later on, for some reason i feel incredibly useless lategame.

Sona is probably the easiest support to get started with, just heal and poke with Q and autos when you can. Zyra has probably the best harass of any support, and you can control the lane very well. Both of those i think are champions you can basically win the lane by yourself with if you're significantly better than your opponents. Janna's really solid as well, but you have to have good shield timings and you can't really win the lane by yourself.

+1 for zyra as #1 carry support. i played with one who just zoned the enemy team 1v2 pretty much

leona lategame i just stand next to our ad to be a cc bot. a lot more boring than laning phase though

Kayle support is the real #1 carry support obv when you steal your carry's kills and just **** it why not build offensive items

Let's all be honest here: farm Sona is the #1 carry support.

Zyra is pretty hard to play -- don't recommend her to start. She has very ****ty movespeed and base armor which will get you crushed in lane of you aren't familiar with her spell range and how to abuse the plants.

I don't know what you mean by peel in lane, explain? And what exactly about her kit is good for disengage?
