Exactly this basically. Also, the tourney structure being bad isn't a light point. Good tourney structures maximize the chances the best 2 teams make the finals. The disadvantage of bad structures is you can get a grand finals that just ends up being a 3-0 sweep vs a weak team. For all this rah rah Staples Center ****, that would be really disappointing. Also a structure is only as good as its weakest point. Quarters being bo3 is bull****.

IMO some small tweak like this would be better: 7 team group stage bo1, top 6 continue in their group another bo1. 1st of each group berth into semis, 2nd+3rd into quarters.

it really defies so much logic that they go through an 8game group(which is the only good thing about the structure) but then have a best of 3 quarters, I mean bo5 quarters, bo5 semis, bo7 finals please

The problem in general is playoff format. Swiss is much better way to see which teams should meet in finals. Swiss -> cut into top 2 or top 4 imo.

Not that I am aware of... which I find outrageous because imo riot has in the past made up the rules on the fly to benefit them, at the expense of the legitimacy of tournaments (eg. NALCS relegation and a couple other incidents I forget.) The rules clearly should be public and well known beforehand.
