Don't get me wrong. I think Monte's knowledge of team compositions and strategies is superior to LCS casters. And the fact that they're casting the OGN and not the LCS certainly plays a big role in this. I just think it gets exaggerated a lot without much evidence. Of course it's entirely possible that they are in a different league knowledge wise.

hasn't monte been coaching for a while? don't really see any other casters offered jobs like that

i get the environment point and it's prob a big part of it, but it still remains that monte has something interesting to say a lot more often than others (and i kinda like doa's cringe-worthy-jokes, but i'm a nerd

)

can you imagine a team picking up quickshot for coaching

I do think other lcs colour commentators are pretty good tho, kobe, jatt and deficio know their **** atleast superficially good enough for me

A lot, and I mean A lot of casters are flat out awful for level 3+thinking.

what I mean is that Monte is good because he knows the scouts, the tactics the flow of the organization. Jatt has been a great on cast analyst and delficio is okay. but everyone else is just stuck at level 1 thinking. the reason some people will think quickshot + phreak are good is because of their sprouting of cds and what champs are good at. Jatt and monte dont tell you what a champ is good at, they tell you what the champ is trying to do in that comp and what the player behind them is trying to accomplish. Listening to monte and even jatt then listening to anyone else is such ughh

yea ozone is the slight fav heading into that match. the only reaon its slight it becuase of how dominant k is when they have time to plan for a specific match and with mandu back.

if it was any other team playing as shaky as K was the previous couple matches, it be a clear fav

Dade's game 2 on yasou was a thing of beauty he had no knockup support and just dominated that game

When he's on his game he's probably the #2 mid in the world, he's had a couple shaky moments other than worlds but god he can beast mode

Much of worlds was getting ****ed by a patch without enough time to prepare new champs, and a lot of tilt. patch changes can really swing matchups

Finals should be interesting and it shows how high the level is in korea that these teams are in the finals.

Well shield got 4th last season and has been clearly an elite team for a while

Blue is definitely more of a surprise, the dade change worked well for both teams, I think Ozone is better but its close and dade was back in beast mode

It really messes with worlds, skt will still be #1 if blue wins with blue/shield/ozone very close behind and setting up a total cluster**** summer season

Its a little clearer if shield wins since blue functionally drops out barring a summer win
