Altec is out of WFX and krepo has retired. I wonder if an LCS team will pick up Altec.

Best thing was WFX picking TDK because they got a bad mid, then Alex subs in and just destroys Pobelter.

Quote:
The most heartbreakingly disappointing North American storyline, only rivaled by CLG, is going to be Team Fusion. A much hyped, promising team that invested into setting up a great brand, created their own content, and took fan interaction to new levels yet never really got the chance to play on the big stage. After failing to secure a spot in both the 2015 LCS splits, they are going to disband the team.

Team Fusion was created around October 2014, yet already developed a fanbase that is arguably larger than some of the LCS teams in both NA and EU. This was initially mostly due to them featuring seasoned veterans in their line up – NintendudeX and Nien had been around quite a while, and MaKNooN was an instant fan favorite. Fusion was a chance at redemption for players that were singled out as targets of criticism at their former teams. NintendudeX, Nien and Gleeb all had disappointing endings to their tenure which left them with something to prove. Additionally, Veyloris’ PR efforts captured many redditors’ hearts. Unfortunately they failed in the promotion tournament for the 2015 LCS Spring Split, which made them release MaKNooN.

This was not the end, however, as Team Fusion then released a statement clarifying that they wouldn’t disband and were “maintaining a very sustainable position as a business”. Changes were made to the line up and they competed once again only to crash out after being one win away from securing an LCS spot and relegating Team Dignitas in the process.

The situation has changed now, and sources close to the organization inform us that Team Fusion have decided to effectively disband the team. Some of their players are already in talks with a new challenger team, which is expected to have a more successful run at the LCS spot next season.
It is unclear whether the organization will hold on to their content team and maintain the brand. Team Fusion did not respond to a request for comment by publication time.

Q. Who do you think is the best top laner in NA?
TiP Impact: I think Dyrus from TSM is the best. I don’t feel like he has good mechanics or a strong laning phase, but I think he has a good understanding of his role.
lol, pretty sad state of affairs when the best top laner doesn't have good mechanics or a strong laning phase.

dyrus gets a lot of hate but not many top laners are that much better and he pretty much enables the rest of TSM to carry

Dyrus is the Wickd of NA. He gets by with name recognition only at this point. It also probably helps his case that he brings in alot of $ to TSM and Reginald. If he was on any other team everyone would laugh at his play and call him one of the worst players in the LCS.

you forgot this :

He never overcommits, and he rarely gives up any opportunities for a solo kill or a gank.
I'm not sure if Impact was trolling, I'm like 100% confident that Dyrus gave up the most Solokills Top in NA.

I couldn't find solo kill stats but same idea. Obviously part of the damage differential is Dyrus paying Lulu/Sion/Maokai. Small sample for Rumble damage, but it seems everywhere you look Dyrus comes in very far behind:

Dyrus averaged the lowest damage to champions in the NA LCS except for Avalon, but to be fair to Avalon, he did provide a larger damage share to the team:

Based on those stats it's hard to make a case for Dyrus or Balls as better than Impact, Hauntzer, Quas, Zion Spartan, CaliTrlolz8, Cris, or Gamsu. But hey Avalon is pretty clearly the worst.

While numbers don't lie, isn't part of the problem that TSM always focuses on getting bjergsen ahead? While other teams always focus on getting Dyrus behind? While there is def no excuse for all of the 1v1 solokills he gives up and all of the first bloods, camping Dyrus has been a classic beat-TSM strat for years now.

I also think that while Dyrus is fairly garbage in lane (and has had some very questionable TP usage), he is a very strong team fighter, which is where its much harder to really put numbers or stats on an individual performance. IDK i feel like while Dyrus deserves a lot of the criticism he gets, he is still the best top laner FOR TSM, at least in NA. Even replacing him with Impact etc I think sets TSM back since their current style of play is clearly very effective both in NA and internationally.

Well Turtle is a pretty bad laner as well, but he still looks good on TSM. While Dyrus manages to look bad. Right now TSM manages to get something back in return, when Dyrus makes a mistake. I don't think that's possible in a tourney like MSI, especially when Bjergsens edge is much smaller or in some cases probably not even there.

I'm actually really excited for Huni vs Dyrus, gonna be interesting if Dyrus gives up a solokill. Unfortunatlely Hecarim is gonna be banned away from Huni 100% else I'd be sure that Dyrus would get owned.

I mean this is just crazy talk. Replacing Dyrus with a significantly better player would make TSM stronger. Part of the explanation for TSM not trying to feed Dyrus is he's not very good at the LCS level and they're better off with the gold on Turtle or Bjergsen. And it's much riskier for TSM to try to make plays in laning phase with Dyrus since he's more likely to misplay than Bjergsen or Turtle/Lustboy.

If TSM puts Dyrus on an Irelia or a Rumble at MSI vs SKT or EDG they'll lose the game. If I were the coach for either of those teams I'd focus pick/ban at Dyrus and try to bait him on a carry. e.g. Bans on Sion/Lulu/Maokai. Dyrus did win games on Rumble at IEM Katowice, but Steak and Aluka are not Koro1 or MaRin.

TSM cant pick up more foreign players so unless they can get Quas i don't think its worth making a roster swap.

Yeah they're going to stick with Dyrus through Worlds, but this November will be Bjergsen's two year anniversary in NA so he'll count as an NA, and TSM will be able to pick up another foreigner. That would be the time to pick up Impact or any other Dyrus replacement.

Lustboy and Santorin are the foreigners Bjergsen is an exempt foreigner so nothing will change, they can pick up a new guy when Lustboy has been in NA for 2 years
