That call in the TSM vs C9 game where regi was pushing top while turtle hid in the bushes was 1 of the worst calls I've seen in LCS. Off the top of my head I can't think of a worse one.

that TSM baron call yesterday against vulcun was way worse, as far as win % change as a result. they weren't in any danger of winning against C9 so not a huge deal

Yes blame nami, she is way too good at disengage so you can't dive vs tidal wave/bubble

Honestly I'm surprised nami isn't banned more

Yeah I'm bipolar on that for sure.

Possibly because I know the coach on Velocity and he's really good. Velocity did hold the lead in the early game, but they just had no effing clue how to finish the game from there.

Plus, I got the feeling that C9 might start screwing around with their picks slightly, and they did in picking Vayne (a champion that does not fit their default playstyle) in another game.

has this guy been their coach all split?

Started recently - he was the coach of the NA allstars and has actually been coaching one of the Brazilian teams (CNB, who finished 2nd in the Brazilian regionals)

I mean considering their previous coach was apparently Studio the upgrade must be outrageous .
07-26-2013 , 08:58 PM
haha really studio was a coach how could they stand to listen to him talk

A big reason for the heavy push stuff is to be team fight averse. Lotta Koreans picking Ori, Nami, Shen, Zac, etc. comps for the wombo combo strats and the best way to prevent getting owned is to avoid 5v5 fights altogether.

This is really the hugest difference I've noticed between the KR/OGN scene and the others. They are really good at working as a team without actually being grouped in the same area. Small stuff -- like AD+support defending tower vs. 3, they sense the 3 guys will dive, so jungler rotates to Shen (vs. Zac) lane specifically so that the jungler can zone and prevent Zac from interrupting Shen ult if it is needed.
07-26-2013 , 09:08 PM
so it's doable though like you can win games without ever 5v5ing?
07-26-2013 , 09:09 PM
lol these bans

clg should ban kog

EDIT: or not

Yeah, basically only ever small skirmishes and pushing with strong pushers/duelists.

I find it boring and I don't think it's an amazing strategy, but its way better than getting owned by a team that picks a sick teamfighting comp.

As for specific teams that run that strategy I'd have to go through OGN VoDs but I don't think any of the 'top' Korean teams really run that strategy too heavily (maybe MVP ozone?)
07-26-2013 , 09:14 PM
ok so it's not really like a big thing
07-26-2013 , 09:15 PM
i like clg's comp here
07-26-2013 , 09:19 PM
im going to be so happy when they put armor on the turrets so this gay 3v1 turret strat goes away.
07-26-2013 , 09:25 PM
It seems like every game in OGN Montecristo is going on about splitpushing. Maybe he just has a fetish for splitpushing (that would explain why CLG hired him as coach/analyst). Not always 3-1-1, but splitpushing definitely appears to be the predominant strategy in Korea right now.

07-26-2013 , 09:53 PM
Doublelift up by 150+ CS, CLG must be winning right?
07-26-2013 , 09:55 PM
so frustrating they waste all the farm on the most useless role

if jiji had that 150 cs they'd be in business
