The reason Amumu isn't played competitively is that he is a blue reliant jungle. If they invade blue or harass him there, he is useless for a while. He also will not any fights early on, solo.

Amumu is a solo q terror because he wins teamfights. But the pro game is more about objective control and mobility than teamfighting.

Also, if an LCS player wants to play a jungler like Amumu, there's really no reason to take him over Sej.

Amumu is pretty much a worse version of sejuani. Sej has AOE cc ult which doesn't require her to be in the middle of the enemy team, more CC including a knockup, more innate tankiness (i think, 25 armor vs -10 physical damage, lol doing the maths), oh and the ability to DASH OVER WALLS

Think Amumu's main issue is how crap he is early. Sej's early game is at the bottom end of playable in competitive imo, and Amumu's is worse.

I love how everytime riot buffs a champion with a specific goal in mind they become super OP in a different lane

Yeah as someone who plays Jinx a lot, she is def at home in the tank meta. Jinx excels in prolonged fights where she can get off a ton of autos, and is hurt by a meta where assassins are prevalent since she has no shields/escapes.
