a couple of my friends tried to get me into HON but I didn't really like it. I tried LOL and I prefer it greatly, however all my friends are making fun of me and think LOL totally sucks and has awful graphics. This is why I prefer LOL over HON (from a noob's perspective)

- no worrying about denies which I find annoying
- not as many insta-kills it seems. in hon i was just instantly dying anytime i was within 15 steps of an enemy, it seemed like a game of staying really far away from opponents. LOL seems a bit more lax, you can sometimes run away from a ganking or take big damage but still escape and heal. HON seemed merciless in that sense.

I like to mid with Ashe obv., but I feel like everything is dependent on if you can hit the villain champion with volley, and exactly how many. I can usually do well, push them back far enough, but then the jungler kills me, or someone forgets to call an mia and I die.

ya I don't have that much trouble vs ashe it's pretty easy remember to always stay behind a minion but I never dodge ashe's ults though that's what gets me vs her

just play brand, he rapes mid. flash + ignite + REQW har har (ERQW if you like)

I think in solo queue, if you die because you get ganked mid when someone did not call MIA, it is your own fault. Don't trust your teammates in solo queue just watch the mini map at all times, if there are people missing stay back a bit and you be fine. And then u can bitch at them that they didn't call MIA's, while you are still alive! win win

ashe mid is v bad imo. i cant think of a favorable matchup mid, ur like soooo slow and squishy early u need support to farm up imo. ur base dmg is also quite low compared to other chars. also u shouldnt be able to to volley the enemy champ like ever. hard enough to land ur 100% crit even.

ashe isn't a bad mid, dreamhack is the highest lvl of play. Shes like tier 2 prob.

Ashe is a great mid. When people misuse him he seems like a bad mid. Get boots and pots and farm your ass off. Save volley to stave off aggression, get rich. Your slows and ulti are really good for early/mid game when ur jungle comes to gank. Then you do good damage late game, have good single target and aoe slows, and one of the best initiation ulti's in the game.

But yea, ur not gonna like WIN ur lane and get fed off hero kills. But if you're dying then ur prob doing it wrong. wards + hawk eye(?) make you really hard to gank.

Thats kinda not the point, the mid lane is the ganking lane/mid game lane. Giving it to someone like annie/irelia who will dominate the game 25 minutes in with a lvl advantage is preferable because they scale with lvls while an ashe scales with gold.

ashe with an iedge at lvl 8 is pretty much the same as an ashe with an iedge at lvl 11. Annie's dmg goes up considerably at lvl 11 compared to lvl 10. Ashe in a dual lane is just as good as ashe in a solo lane while if you put nid bot with janna its unlikely nidalee's going to do anything the entire game.

ya no doubt the tf has to be really good to have an equal chance, but tf can still poke her so much cus of his range and red card.

Does anyone here actually play ranked games?

Tried to play one for an hour. Had probably 25-30 minutes of queue time. Got into 5 lobbies, was called a ****** infinite times, and had someone leave before the game started every time.

I played ranked solo/duoqueue pretty much ( 1550 rating ), if you're taking a horrible combination ie someone has already taken a ranged carry and you take another ( with some stupid spell combination ) then yeah I'd expect someone else in the lobby to start talking to you

What were the team picks before you picked? It's the most likely thing I can think of. ( and was it someone from your team leaving, or was it summoner 1-5 - which means it was someone on the opposing team ).

Stuff like:

I am doing the bans, guy on my team says "BAN MORDE AND TRYN". I ban Alistar/TF. He instantly starts raging at me.

I have 2nd pick, guy on my team says "PICK RAMMUS". I don't have rammus. I tell him this and pick Sona. Calls me a ******.

Sounds like idiots being idiots, I've never run into queue dodgers really because in ranked you lose rating from dodging.

( Assuming 5v5 soloqueue btw, not 3v3 ).

in EUland at the mo, 100% bans on ww, tf, gangplank with frequent bans on rumble, nocturne and orianna.

Nobody expects to get a trade although it is nice if it's a strong champ that is likely to get picked that didn't get banned ( lol at someone emoing over rammus who is definitely not top tier at the moment ).

These are you first ranked matchs? The initial 10 games are placement games which puts you with alot of new/weird players, your games should be alot better afterwards.

Its kinda funny because they pick rammus and then go lane not realize why he was ever top teir in the first place.

You should def type, planning on banning tf/alistar in chat before hand though just to avoid any trolling. Lost some games because I like to ban Annie/Irelia/Warwick which is apparently someones main and then they proceeded to troll me the entire game.

I thought the person who bans was always the person with the highest ELO, guess thats not the case.

Maybe I'll give it another shot. But waiting forever and getting 5 people dodge in a row is sooooo frustrating.
