I need help with how I should be thinking with Nunu past mid game. I got machete, 5pot, spirit stone, boots, spectral wraith, mercury trends, then either iron soli or shurelya's.

After this am clueless. Last game went Iron Soli since their MissFortune was only one really finishing the kills, and decided to get Void staff since we were weak in AP and I had been getting off good full ults.

Meh whatever works for you, but I'd advise Ancient Golem, Ninja Tabi, Ruby Sightstone, and then Locket. I don't think Nunu makes a very good burst mage, he excels at running around, permaslowing people, and securing objectives.

His ultimate has great scaling, and if you can actually get the full ultimate off then building AP would do more damage, but it's really hard to actually do that.

Also, Nunu isn't limited to machete depending on your early game plan you can get some combination of boots, pots, wards, doran's ring. You will get machete eventually though.

No reason to start machete + 5 pots, either start machete + ward + pots or boots + pots + ward and counterjungle. The new banshees veil might be a decent buy on him to soak up more cc and possibly get off an ult.

Wait for him to YOLO dive your whole team, keep 1 CC for him, use it, kill him in 2 seconds. As long as someone has an easy cast Snare/Stun for Yi and they hold on to it, Yi can be neutralized right after his alpha strike.

You can't stun/snare Yi when he ults. Bro.

You can't be allowed to post either if you actually believe that. Yi is immune to MS SLOWS during ULT, NOT ALL CC, learn 2 read.

Are there any good guides on how to properly think about warding? I started playing more support recently and I think I am actually overwarding a bit, finding that I'll have a lot of vision on the whole map for a while but might be too far from some team fights or might run out of wards when I find I'd really like them. I'm having trouble finding the right balance of vision throughout the game. Also, when do you usually pick up an oracle's? So far I just get one when I don't have anything I immediately need to buy, but wasn't sure if there was a more general methodology for deciding when you need things like that.

Don't get oracles until you want to get nashor or its 45 mins+, just not worth it.

Important wards are:

Lane ward for bot lane in the outer bot lane bush and one in the tribrush
10 mins-35 dragon ward
20 min+ baron ward
1 ward in the middle of mid lane and 2 if an inhib is down. Put it at the outer mid tower if 1 tower is down, inner if 2 is down and put a ward at their inhib if you took it.

What about blue and red? I try to at least keep blue warded as that seems like a pretty central and important location.

it depends on how the lane is going, it can be pretty unsafe to ever get there to ward it

Over warding is rarely a huge leak. Sightstone is basically unlimited free wards so you're not wasting gold. Sometimes you only need a ward for 30 seconds (for example when sieging a tower, you ward so you don't get flanked then once tower is dead you base and that ward won't do much). More extreme examples are like going to baron after they've cleared your jungle with oracles -- you'll need to ward every brush on the way just to make sure they aren't camping it to safely get to the baron pit.

once im roaming with team as support, i really like to ward right at the tip of enemy wraith camp so you can still see people coming to river from between red and dragon / baron pit and the little banana bush between bluff buff and river. i feel like that gives good protection from flanks and lets you know when people are coming in or out of enemy jungle.

yeah the wraith camp bush is the most important jungle ward for solo que. Warding yours prevents enemy middle from roaming through your jungle and warding theres cuts two gank paths from jungle

^ Ya that.

Especially if you're blue team, the jungler should be buying a ward anytime he has excess gold and keeping the corner of that bush warded. It protects two lanes and protects red side jungle from being invaded.

if you want to ward baron you must ensure you do not go alone
