Then they faced another EU team at IEM Cologne and lost that even more convincing. Sure these teams were Fnatic and gambit but it is teams which bracket were running _5_ teams on equal points up to the very last round of games except for a team that they didnt even play(lemondogs). So no - equalizing EU/NA bracket beyond 2 team is absolutely ridicolous.
-- to round up; C9 absolutely demolished NA scene and made it a superstomp. They proceed to play two non #1 EU-teams according to a lengthy series and lose pretty convincing. Somehow you come up with that NA/EU region still is even "except for two teams" when in fact these two teams were battling it to the very last game for worlds with additional 3 teams and 1 team that were above them all.... k.
Things a'changing now tho, when recruiting are going worldwide, teams with the purses will prevail.
How can someone lose a 2-1 series decisively? Games 1-2 were close and both times the winning team snowballed their advantage (C9 even led in g1, something fnatic didn't do in g2). Yes g3 was a stomp and C9 should have played better but its the placement of these games that distort our perception of this series. If C9 got stomped in the first game and then played 2 close games we'd remember that series much differently.
TSM and Lemondogs went 1-1 in the groups at worlds
Vulcun would have went 1-1 with Gambit if they didn't go full Throwbargains (of course this is their specialty...). There isn't some massive gulf between these two regions. EU has been better, consistently for awhile, even since like IPL5
I do think that the EU scene is far, far deeper than NA. Alliance, NiP, Gambit, fnatic are all capable of winning the EU LCS. Whereas in NA outside of C9 and TSM there are mostly teams with huge flaws and inferior talent (Vulcun can join the C9/TSM group if they dump Zuna or he miraculously gets better without practicing).
I dunno why I'm arguing this because I hate this argument. Who cares who has the better region? Why does it even matter?
