It's getting to the point where I want to upgrade specifically because when the system goes down for it's last time, we won't know until it's too late. We won't lose anything since it's all backed up and I don't mix in PT or use plug-ins, but there are times where I expect an implosion based on how it reacts when I hit play sometimes.

Anyone in here use Amplitube?

I got the Amplitube 3 Free bundled with my mixer and it has 50 included credits for effects/amps/cabs etc.

I have already "purchased" an amp/cab combination based on a Supro and a Silvertone and am pretty happy with the sound.

I was just wondering if any users have recommendations on good effects or amps. There is a 2 day trial on each plug in, which is a good concept imo.

Cheers

Have used it, yes, but not enough to make any good recommendations. Guitar Rig is pretty bad ass too.

Have you used it enough to say if something like Guitar Rig kills it in terms of quality of modelling etc, or is it pretty well much of a muchness?

It's just that I could get away with spending a 1/4 of the $$ with using Amplitube compared with GuitarRig.

hey guise

looking at getting an acoustic guitar

i know lots about electrics, not much about acoustics.

want a single cutaway

what are the good brands, Taylor, Martin, Takamine?

any recommendations in the 300-500 range?

type of music would be blues/classic rock ish (think Clapton unplugged)

Will you be playing by yourself or with others? Would you consider buying used?

Also what Taylor or Martins could you get for the 300-500 range?

That sounds super low as they are quality guitars. Even their low end stuff is usually over a grand here in Australia.

Japanese made Takamine's rock in my opinion, as do any of those 70's Jap made copies from like Ibanez.

o hai guys

forgot i posted here

IDK if you can get Taylor or Martins for 300-500, IDK anything about acoustics.

I ended up getting a Fender acoustic eletric GC14 model, which I can't seem to find anywhere online. Got it for about $240. Sounds good to me, bright, good action, intonation is good.

looks like an acoustic guitar with a single cutaway.

wouldn't a sound clip be more appropriate?

Anybody ever had any experience with the cheap ass SX brands. They get good reviews I might try one of those telecasters. A decent looking piece of wood should be worth what they cost

What's going on in here? Oh right. Yamaha 6 string acoustic with the metal strings. Ibanez 7 string electric double octave neck. F powerchord on the E and A is a stretch, but it's fun to play. I can play some funk on the bottom or something pretty on top. Can't play some favorites on the electric because I can't use the thumb for the low notes; like "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Don't Follow."

Hey guys, got a question.

I bought a Korg MMA130 mobile amp.
On the back you see it has a DC9v out jack, meant for powering korg products.

I have a boss loopstation I would like to power off of this amp. it is also 9v, however, the jacks don't fit. I sent Korg a message, and this is what they said:

"Thank you for your inquiry. This output and plug are meant for specific Korg products that use the KA350 adapter. Please note that the configuration of the adapter uses a positive center pin, where the standard Boss configuration uses a negative center pin. This means that even if you had the right size adapter, it would still not be compatible with your Boss gear. "

Anyone know what would happen if i took the boss cable, and the korg cable, and rigged them together??

I am going to build this for my living room area for when I want to play music and experiment with live performance stuff:

When I'm drinking and doing stuff in between playing songs the studio room where I have to sit or stoop low sucks. There's no Ikea in my city so I'm going to have to improvise a bit.

Link (with pics of some actual finished setups): http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/10/1...om-ikea-parts/ I'll just do one that's single book case deep.

I'm also looking to either buy a studio desk or make one for my room where I sit. Right now I'm just using a crappy particle board office type desk that is about to fall apart at any time. Anyone build anything cool as far as studio desk setups go?

My friends built a sick custom desk. Damn thing was so big they had to take it apart to get it in the house and reassemble it there.

I was occasionally on spray paint duty. :flex:

The newest piece of equipment I'm rocking is a Sennheiser E935 vocal mic. I've been using cheap ass mics that came with the P.A. we got, some ****ty cheap gear one microphones, and we've all struggled to hear my vocals all this time. I tried it for the first time tonight and it blows those cheap mics out of the water. Tested it against the drummer's SM58 and the Sennheiser has more gain and more presence, so it cuts through the mix more. My vocals were finally audible tonight. This mic is awesome.

A '65 DR 100% original. Don't seem to have a picture of the Vox on the right.

'57 Vintage Reissue in the right. American Standard on the left. Homemade 5F1 Champ

My 'Studio' - Fender Champ II. One of my favorites. Mustang III on the bottom. Same Fender '57 AVRI
Bluesbreakers songbook thrown on the floor in frustration.

And sometimes I just feel like banging on something.

and the guitar is leaning on a 5E3 Fender Deluxe clone I built over the winter.

How long have you been building amps?

I've messed around with that type of stuff since I was a kid. But building period correct, hand-wired classic Fender circuits for the last ten years or so. I mostly build them for friends and just for fun. I focus on the great tweed amps - Champ, Deluxe and the Bassman.
