Some of you may complain of the lack of action in your chosen poker variant. I know that at times 27 TD seems like a barren wasteland no one wants to play. Guess what if you sit they will come!!! The stakes that I play I am the one constantly starting games and will take on all comers HU provided I dont recognize their name from some 30/60+ game. Usually HU really doesnt last for that long and you will have ppl joining. Sometimes huge fish sit then your sitting 3 handed with a huge fish. This is a very good thing! I see when i sit and start games by the time i am ready to call it a night there will sometimes be 3-4 full tables playing when i choose to leave. So put yourself out there and start tables!


Benefits include:

Getting better at HU play which is sexy :P

Get better with a variety of ppl sitting at a table :P

Being able to concentrate on a specific opponent and get even better reads on them.

There have been times where a drooler will sit with me and no one will be interested in joining a shorthanded game so i get him all to myself.

I also find it easier to tilt a specific opponent HU because all of their hatred and frustration gets focused all on one opponent instead of being dispersed throughout the table

Tips:

When I sit and put myself out there DO NOT sit directly to the left of me. If your a reg I feel you are victimizing me for being bold enough to try and start a game. I have chastised some of you guys and said if you are first to sit, sit ACROSS from me. You know? a neutral position. This will likely increase both of our winrates and there are equal chances for you and I to get position on the fish. Besides why do you want to sit to the left of a guy that isnt going to give that much away. If you know my screenname I rarely if ever sit to get position on a reg especially if they are sitting by themselves. I will choose a neutral spot or a place where if fish join I will likely have position on them.

when you sit by yourself just make sure you are comfortably rolled. I usually dont sit by myself at the highest stake that i play because it may be a little more volatile than i can handle at the moment. But my regular stakes I sit and play anyone. I get better and I see what good players do and I learn and learn how to cut up the fish even faster.

If you're a well known reg, one of the advantages to being the first to sit is that other regs tend to avoid you. So if someone does sit you, its usually a fish.

I start the majority of larger KCL games and it works for me.

I personally don't like HU as much, so I rarely start tables. Admittedly they usually fill up fairly quickly, and if I'm really in the mood to play TD I will. I should try to get better HU because that is where I think I'm weakest.

Also I just realized who you are. I can definitely find more profitable people than you to have sitting at my right and wouldn't sit to your left.

I love HU but the games dont stay HU long enough.........im 6 out 7 last few weeks in the $10 HUSNGs for TDL!! Might just quit cash games and busto the SNG monkees!!

You really keep count? If I did sit to get position on you i wasnt paying much attention or maybe i was in a bad mood :P
