Ideas on how to incorporate betting into Rummikube? (Aside from betting on who wins)

If you haven't heard of Rummikube, check it out because it's an awesome game.

This is the first I recall of hearing about Rummikube.

An easy way to incorporate gambling would be to start with the game at 1 chip and then have a doubling cube as in backgammon. Either you or your girlfriend could present the doubling cube to the other, and then the other either:
1. accepts the cube and the doubled stakes, or
2. rejects the doubled stakes and concedes the game.

The person who accepts the double then "owns" the doubling cube and can redouble at some time in the future. An immediate redouble is called a "beaver" and an immediate reredouble is called a "raccoon." I think that's how it goes. Google backgammon rules for more details. Also try googling Rummikube.
