Zomg never saw this thread. I am a reg at the 8G SNGs, made most of my monies there. Right now I'm rolled to play 25NL so I do that, to improve my Hold'em which, admittedly, sucks donkey ****. I still play the 8G SNGs in between tho, because of all the free money. I don't even have to play well to get +25% ROI.

I've only once seen (and participated in) a 25$ 8G SNG, that's ****ty cuz I'm getting way overrolled for the smaller ones.

Come play SNG HU. 50 dollars and up. :P

limit hold'em is my worst game, which is a big problem in HUSNGs

How would you guys feel if they changed to 8 game mix to a 6 game mix I like to call TOE-HOLD

having limit hold in a mix game is a bod idea, Stud and Razz can go as well Then I like addind the KCL

You could call it HOTEL if you get rid of one of the two omaha rounds.

And HOSTEL if you add in stud

I've started playing 7-game on FT at very low stakes.

My best game is NLH and i play also well RAZZ.
I play PLO and L Omaha H/L good enough to reach the break even.
I play Stud Hi and Stud H/L not very well as i should.

Some tips for me?

One problem I think I have is adjusting to much to the fish

I know they dont have a hand so I stretch my range to far

Does anybody know how to find total hands played during an 8 game session on stars. I want to keep track of my play but the stars stats box only counts the hands played on an individual game basis, no totals for all games combined.

Ideas for tracking my play?

It can easily be solved by remembering how many full rounds you have played. But that is one more thing to take notice of I for one would get lost at some point for sure.

changes to make to 8 game

1. Change limit games BB to 3 times NL/PL games
its much better than double (this translates very well to live games as a 3/6 chip game simply uses 1 chip big blind)


2. Boil it down
the fish suck as Stud HL, 2-7 ,Razz and sometime PLO but they get so watered down with to many games.
I would like to see 1 or more of these games gone (not all)

Games to eliminate(in order):

1. Limit Hold'em (this should go for sure)
2. Stud High (I hate this game)
3 Omaha H/L


3. Add KCL

I would use a BB 2/3 of the limit games (double NLHE and PLO)

yes someone might have to sit out on the tripple draw, but often you will have someone waiting for a blind or the game might not be full. Its only one out of 8 games that cant play 8 handed. why not increase?

I dont mind 6 that much but its 5 or less so often (again waiting on blind or not full) if it was 8 max games would ofen be 6-7 handed

#1 and #3 seem reasonable, but I don't quite get your reasons for eliminating some of the games?

if you make it 6 game you play more tripple draw, razz and S8 than if it 8 game

Kinda boring and doesn't seem to make for big pots like 2-7 and PLO, just an opinion though. Pretty sure I'm a losing hold'em player FWIW

If you remove all the games the fish have a chance at, what makes you think the fish will stay? I pray Stars pay no attention to this. 8game is fine as it is. If you can't play a game, suck it up.

I actually love the game as it is. Only been playing a week but am doing well and thoroughly enjoy all games. BTW the fish suck at all the games but Id have to say Stud8 is their worst game. I havent played in a stud8 only game since 2000-2002 where so many people will allow themselves to get jammed for 4 bets so often.

Limit Holdem is completely different game than NL and as a result very few of the players in 8-Game play it well...perfect reason not to eliminate it.

If your goal is to move up to the bigger games you will want to keep the tables 6 handed as the bigger games tend to run short quite often.

I would like to see Stars sponser a TV show like High Stakes Poker based on 8 Game. This would bring the fish out in force in IMO!!

The current mix of games is great. Why **** with it? The game has eight out of the eleven games that WSOP bracelet events comprise, the only three missing are PLHE, PLO8, and 2-7 lowball. If they wanted to expand it to an 11-game mix and have all of the WSOP bracelet events represented, that would be fine by me, but it's also fine to just leave it as it is. Also, eight is a lucky number in Chinese culture so, in the event that poker ever makes it to mainland China, perhaps a bunch of gamblers will flock to the 8-game tables on account of if being a lucky number of games for a mix game. OK, maybe that last part isn't 100% serious, but the rest is.
