How powerful is snowing with a 4-flush in badugi How powerful is snowing with a 4-flush in badugi

In a WCOOP replay, I saw rungodlike do it with 3c5c9cTc. He 3! a HJ raise from CO and was cold called by the BB. His opponents both had tris two low cards and an 8. They both missed their badugis and he won with the snow.

I guess he had to continue once he got the cold caller and they both drew 1. Think the blockers are really strong. Wonder if it might be better to do with not quite as good blockers as an open raise and/or in later position.

I like it...I am not sure what range of cards make the best blockers, but logically, a 1 suited hand is best. Whether to keep it up after you get 2 calls, I am not sure, but the math is probably pretty good, especially if they fold after the second draw.

You might also draw 1 and then snow...

Rungodlike seems to be a strong mixed games player. Two players drew one three times, but the "badugi" was good. One of them needed a club. I would probably have drawn 1 the first draw and then patted.

Benny is indeed good but this play is probably a spew that worked out. Your idea/line is much much worse btw

You are the expert, but I don't understand why it is worse? If you pat initially, it looks like you probably have a weak badugi that they may try to take you off of.

It seemed to me like he was playing the ideal blocker hand, but it wasn't best against an ep raise with players to act. Better to open raise in late position or reraise a late position raiser with 3 of a suit.

You prefer to semi bluff with hands that can make "something" and then snow them if you miss. No reason to just add more zero equity hands to any of your ranges.

I was wondering if the 4-flush was powerful enough to snow with regardless of equity.

I watch the badugi final table videos and I don't see much snowing. When they do snow, it sometimes is 2 to pat, which is almost always going to get called down.
