Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

Me and a lot of my fellow regular players (about 20 tops) all agree we really LIKE this double holdem. And will keep playing it forever if there where just more players. Its really profitable.
On the playmoney tables hundreds of players play everyday but not on real $

I contacted party before about this double holdem and they say we players may come with a promotion for this game. So we did but have seen nothing new yet.

It would be very good for PartyPokers RAKE because these double holdem tables have the highest VPIP to be found anywhere i think. They would profit really good from it to.

i played 157000 hands there and made 39188.3 BB (bb/100 24.69), its my best game.
But i am just a microstakes noob compared to the $100 and $200 players there like grossclimate 12348 hands vpip:81.5 pfr:63.8 3bet:18.3 BB/100 : 50.91 ($7748.2 profit)

Im sure everybody spending some time at double (and not get discouraged by the regs busting them for a few stacks) would really like because there is action EVERY hand. Lots of players involved in big pot hands very often.

Well i hope any of you out there join us and realize what a fun game double holdem really is.

Only the best poker game variant there is. Lots of action and probably the biggest winrate opportunity out there. The only problem is it's not as popular as it could be.

I beg to differ, but why don't you go ahead and explain the rules to me.

Re: Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

You get 3 cards. Out of those 3 you choose 1 as your "point card". The point card gives you 2 playable hands. You choose it on the flop when you see what the flop brought.

For instance:

You get: Ah 10h 5c
Flop comes: Jh 6h As

The best pick for a point card in this case is Ah. It will give you two hands: Ah 10h & Ah 5c

This way you have a flush draw hand on flop and also a "2nd backup" hand with Ah 5c if the turn brings another 5.

LOL at saying a play money game is profitable...ALL play money games are ridiculously profitable if you don't play like an idiot.

There is no reason to believe this game will be nearly as profitable if it is expanded to real money. If there are hundreds of players at play money though, it could definitely stay afloat for real money. If its not at real money yet, you should talk to Party about it.

You keep hold of all three cards yes?

If you want to change your point card then you can yes?

Re: Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

It is a real money game. Problem is empty tables tho. But it does fill up once you seat yourself there and wait. Lowest limit has a full table, two or three.

@Al Mirpuri: You have 2 hands made from those 3 cards. Basically you have 2 Holdem hands. You can pick your point card ONLY ONCE, on flop, past that you can't change it again.

Re: Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

There are people there who have well over 50bb/100 winrate. Even couple of them who have over 100 bb winrate, over a longer period ofcourse. And variance is not so big, so it is more a matter of correct play over a bad play.

Agree, regular holdem is to nitty, PLO has much variance. Its like double holdem has PLO action with regular holdem variance.

Re: Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

Playing now is dutchjunk : 15111 hands bb/100 -206.32 (lost $1116 on the 1/2 and 2/4 CENT tables)
He has days where he loses 20 stacks in 100 hands easy. But when luck is on his side he builds a massive stack of sometime up to 1200 bb.
Thats why its a profitably game

I agree, there are quite a lot of players like him. Lowest limit is 1c/2c, highest 25$/50$ but you won't find anyone there. Like i say this game is more lucrative than any other but sadly no big attention.

It's not pineapple. In pineapple you discard one card afaik, here you have two hands from three cards after the flop.

It has been posted that the point card cannot be changed once it is decided upon but who monitors this?

If it is in your hand and remains unknown to the rest of the table then you could change it at will.

Not at all. One you pick a point card of those 3 cards (with your mouse ), the software won't allow you to make a change again. Check tablebrain.com to see how it works.

Thanks for your post, UnderTheSun.

It works online but in a B&M setting or at a home game it would be a nightmare.

The point card would need to be set aside (or distinguished in some other way) so that it could not be changed but this would leave open the question of cheating and all the other disputes that would arise over whether a player had made a particular card the point card or not.

Not to mention that players would repeatedly have to look at their point cards because they could not remember what it was.

It seems you could just as easily have a "floating point card" which changes with the player's wishes.

Thanks again for your response UnderTheSun.

You're welcome. Yes it would be a cheating opportunity in a home game, but also more fun than holdem

Btw, here's a video on youtube. Explains more than the words can:

Can you tell me roughly the traffic at each limit from .5/1 to 2/4?

Couldn't you just put your "pivot card" in front of the other two? Or have it segregated somehow?

Re: Double Holdem No Limit. We really really need more players there.

You have just one table that sometimes fills up to 6 players. 0.5/1 and 1/2. And mostly it's a desert. Unless you, big stakes players fill it, it won't be filled.

...ofcourse you can figure out a non-cheating way.
