like if you go with what the books say and try to play in a 6m environment you're likely to get destroyed.
and i'd always watch winning players do what i thought were really wacky things with "weak" hands and wonder when they were going to go broke.
but the real deal is that equity is equity and you chop too much to throw away hands that aren't always near-nuts.
my guess is that when o8 study literature originally came out, most games were zoo type games where it was indeed correct to play for nuts where you have to withstand a tremendous amount of heat over 3 streets of play.
