Is shooting the moon a standard rule in OFC/POFC?
I've heard its J-high or worse on the bottom (and qualifying), and 20 points. If playing heads up, would this mean your opponent gets a scoop and royalties against your 20 points or does shooting the moon nullify the scoop (and/or royalties)?

I've never heard it played in P-OFC, and if it was it'd have to be something even more impressive than J-low in the back. The ability to discard one card is a huge boost to being able to pull it off.

The reason why it was such a huge bonus in OFC is that it's so damn hard to do. All it takes is one Q, K or A and you're busted. And even if you don't get an Q, K or A, it's still almost impossible. Hence why the few times we've played that rule, it was 20 points and it nullifies everything else relative to you. In other words, everyone pays you 20 points, regardless of whether they fouled their hand or had a monster. If there's more than 2 players, the other players still resolve their hands normally. So let's say A shot the moon, B fouled, C has flush/legal hand. B&C both pay A 20, and then B also pays C 10 (since B fouled and C had a flush royalty to go along with scooping B due to B's foul).

It's almost impossible to pull off. Hence the huge bonus. It's also pretty much a rule that isn't used by anyone anymore.

Is it non pineapple only? ...at least in HU Pineapple, a 20 point + nullify is less valuable, since you are almost always scooped on failure (easy for your opponent to qualify in POFC), and your opponent is more likely to have royalties when you fail.

There are many abbreviations that you might probably be thinking what they would exactly mean and one of them is OFC. There are many people who are not very well-aware from these new trends and expressions on social media and got into trouble because they don’t know what the other person exactly wants to say. Maybe you are one of them as well. OFC means of course. Obviously it is not the right grammatical way to express of course but people use it, especially adolescents and those who are addicted to social media utilize these expressions often. Informal conversations, these expressions don’t sound good because here you are supposed to act according to a reserved pattern and if you don’t then a bad impression will left its marks. So the question arises what would be right place to use ofc.

You can use ‘ofc’ during texting when talking to your friends or someone with whom you don’t have a formal relationship like colleague, boss, principal etc. In case you are texting your parents, you can write ofc, but you would not want to send an explanation of what you just said. There are higher chances that they would not be able to get what you said, as this would be some new way of texting. So the best place is to use it with friends because they might probably know what you are trying to say.
