Questionable Badugi Hand Questionable Badugi Hand

This hand from a Twitch stream in which the Hero is playing the first table of a badugi shootout MTT, 4 handed and everyone has starting stack which is 125 big bets (so ridiculously deep).

Predraw: CO raises, Hero has (A35)6 and 3bets, CO 4bet caps, Hero calls
1st draw: 1/1
Flop: Hero leads with (A35)7, CO calls
2nd draw: 1/0
Turn: Hero checks with (A35J), CO bets, Hero raises, CO 3bets, Hero calls
3rd draw: 1/0
River: Hero checks with (A35)9, CO bets, Hero folds

Questions:
- Hero's raise predraw seems fine but is it marginal or mandatory?
- When Villain 4bets predraw then d1, I'd think his range should be very premium 3 cards better than our A35, so this lead is bad, right?
- Should Hero lead turn? Check/call? Is check/raise overplaying our hand? Once 4bet, is Hero patting and calling down? Calling and breaking seems like the worst option.

I don't know what hands had been looking like at showdown so I don't know if A35 is likely ahead or behind after a capped preflop, but for sure the turn c/r is bad after the flop lead. He should get checked behind by almost everything he's beating and will put in extra bets when beaten.

After leading the flop I would be inclined to lead turn with a Jack, pat and call down if raised. Leading after D1 otf should induce some buff/snow raise-pats and we are beating anything except a small number of freezes if called instead.

If villain flats turn I think there's no value in betting river. Preflop action indicates hero had a strong three-card to start, and people seldom turn those into snows, so villain should rarely bluffcatch. Since he may not bet better Jacks, Tens or weakish Nines we save a little when he outruns us sometimes as well.

As played I would think the whole hand was played so weird that I would not break on the turn and also not fold.

Flop bet isn’t good. Usually, CO will be pat after capping pre draw. There’s little to no chance a 4 bet and D1 is behind A35x imo. So I’d x/c flop.

As played, I’d lead turn for value, since CO didn’t raise flop w pat hand. We get value from pretty much all J and we might even be able to get him to break a T (prob not a 9 though), since the predraw action indicates CO has a premium D1 that can break. The x/r/c prob cost you an extra bet that had no upside.

Normally, after we Cr/c in a 1: Pat turn spot, we could wouldn’t keep the J. But like Electrial said, the whole hand played a little odd and I’d at least consider keeping the J and hope he breaks. If we keep the J and he doesn’t break, I’d x/f the river most of the time and occasionally look him up, bc he didn’t raise the 1:1 flop in position after making a badugi
