I'm interested in a system that plays Pineapple OFC. I've done some research on OFC bots and strategy and I've found some scams (PlayWarren) and some good sites that do not use a neural network or heuristic-based approach but instead solve the game directly for a given position.
I also read a Poker News article by Nikolai Yakovenko on the State of Open-Face Chinese Poker, Part I

Where he mentions the complexity of the game and how it cannot be solved directly, there are too many positions as in chess.
With the rise of powerful computers and algorithms producing strong poker playing agents (eg Libratus), does the same exist for Open Face Chinese Pineapple?
