You guys are welcome for the time a couple months ago I was drunk and the shorthanded 80 game somehow became dealer's choice and I kept picking 5 card badugi after giving up on triple draw high and everyone was like wtf is this **** at first and then they were like wow this game is actually ok. It's honestly a great game. I strongly suggest people try to find ways to introduce new 1 winner games before splitting pots slowly completely takes over poker and lets nits that have never bluffed a unit in a limit game in their life win.

Unpopular opinion. 2-7 drawmaha is worse than high. I see smart people make starting hand, drawing and betting mistakes in high constantly. I see rare starting hand, 0 drawing and rare betting mistakes in 2-7. Neither game is particularly good though imo. At least they're kinda fast.

A-5 seems strictly worse than 2-7. Hoping recs overvalue hands without an Ace isn't real poker. 49 seems lol.

The Big Game has included the most outré variants since they came into vogue. They’ll play anything in that game, so long as the regs believe it’s +EV. The game lineup is heavily negotiated at the outset—and then again (quietly and via text) anytime a new player sits. Like most casino mix games, the regs are always trying to figure out who plays which games the worst and push for those games to be included, in addition to the games the regs play the best. Often those are the “crazy” games.

If a TOTAL fish wants to sit, they may even scrap the entire game lineup and negotiate a new one to give the fish the illusion of equity. They’ll even agree to put the fish’s game in the rotation more than once. (So if the fish wants to play super stud hi, they’ll put multiple super stud hi plaques in the rotation in exchange for the fish agreeing to play whatever other games the regs think they kill.)

When people brought badacey and badeucey into the mid-to-high stakes games, I was told they’d already been introduced into the Big Game months prior, and someone told me at one point that one of the Big Game regs “invented” razzdugi. I have no idea if any of that is true or whether it’s totally ********, but I do wish someone one try to document the histories of the development of these games for posterity.

Do they play all the dramahas including dramaha 49 in the Big Game?

I have no idea whether or not 49 has been played in the Big Game, but I know that dramaha’s original iteration made it into the mix at one point. My impression is that, generally, it’s not been a favorite in the bigger games, but I could easily be wrong about that, depending on location—so someone please correct me if I’m wrong! It’s not played much on the East Coast.

I asked a dealer who deals the Big Game and he said dramaha and dramaha 2-7 has made it in bust hasn’t seen any others (yet).

I'd imagine drawmaha 49 won't ever make it. It's way too easy to collude and squeeze imo.

Is that because of the absolute hand value nature of the game? Ie you can know decently well if you have best hand

I don't get all the hate on here for Drawmaha 49, we play it all the time in my private game (all pot limit though, maybe it's better with that structure?) and it's always an action game. Oh we have a second draw too after the turn which probably helps...Another game that I'm surprised not to have read about is 4Dacey which is just Badacey but with 4 cards instead of 5 (best low hand is A234 obv etc). It plays much faster than Badacey; I believe it was invented by Ali Sarkeshik aka London Ali who most old time high stakes Vegas players would know

It's generally very easy to evaluate whether or not you have a playable starting hand. It's very hard to outdraw a strong starting hand. It's the least rec friendly game that I can ever recall hearing of that is actually played for even remotely meaningful stakes. Holdem is cool because JTo and 53s can very easily outdraw strong starting hands and even fold them out without a showdown. People playing way too many hands but still "pretty" hands should be able to win. Games that lock people with poor starting hand selection out of ever scooping a pot at showdown with those poor starting hands and offer them no ability to bluff suck.

They played A-4 and 2-6 triple draw a few years back in Vegas at some point so that they could play 8 handed

Badacey or Badeucey, must have a badugi to qualify for that half is I think a better version of the games that I've played a couple times.

I meant because we're in a specific thread on a sub-forum dedicated to mix games in all their glorious variations I found it strange that Omaha 49 was frowned upon...

2-6 sounds great - 3456 counts as a straight, yes?

Big bet mix uncapped is played pretty often at commerece casino . The game changes base on who is playing. Sometimes only two games are played which are Pot limit omaha and no limit single draw 2-7. Some other days you can also find new games such as pot limit drawmaha 2-7, no limit single draw baduecy, Pot limit triple draw 2-7, razz 2-7, stud , stud8 and even short deck plo or holdem . The game run as each player get to pick a game so any mix combination is possible to see. The buyin is usually 15k no cap and all the games are either no limit or pot limit (stud/razz games are played half pot limit).

Every game has ante and every game different blinds to make all games same size . Plo plays 200-300 with 300$ ante and 2-7 single draw plays as 300-500 with 500$ ante.

Bumping this thread to ask if anyone knows the origin of Drawmaha 49? We added this the mix in our home game recently, I’m not a big fan...
