In Matusow's vlog, he said that late in the tournament big stacks would pick volatile games where they could put pressure on short stacks. I looked at the final table reports, and it appeared this was true. Big stacks were picking big bet games with one winner and short stacks were picking split pot limit games. It would seem PLO high and PL 2-7 TD would be particularly good for creating big pots and putting pressure on short stacks.

There is are only 2 rounds of betting in that game. The ones I mentioned are better for pressuring short stacks.

Not sure I feel the same way, depends where exactly in tournaments we are and our stack

I like something we can chip up like NLSD or NLHE with plenty of antes

PLO fine too

Think you are in tougher spots in games like limit Hold’em or 27TD in situations where you have clear defends in a cash game but if you play it here you are often priced in to continue

Especially with the big blind having to put up the matching (or higher) ante.

You had a lot of big blind shorties going all-in and patting with queens. Made it real easy for the bigger stacks.
