Attention Seattlites/Washingtonians: 2-7 TD may soon be a reality Attention Seattlites/Washingtonians: 2-7 TD may soon be a reality

I'll post this to the Seattle regional forum too of course but figured specific games might be of interest even just to track the spread of the game. I'm a big and fairly vocal fan of the game but to this point it's been hamstrung by a state gaming authority that thinks the 1979 Hoyle's Rules of Games is a good canonical source for poker.

I wish I were kidding. Hoyle's. Maybe someone will spread bridge or canasta.

A previous attempt at the Fortune in Renton ran aground because it depended on the ambiguity between single draw and triple draw, and Hoyle only covers single draw. I guess one agent was OK with it and then someone else's wasn't. So the games went a few times and were popular, until the two agents got together and decided TD wasn't really according to Hoyle. (You can blame me for the two agents getting together because I really wanted a TD game north of Seattle, but the ambiguity really wasn't sustainable given the backwardness of the regulators.)

Again, I wish I were kidding.

Anyway, I've heard from a couple of rooms that the logjam has been broken and this is pretty far along. They're just working out a couple more regulatory kinks. I have no idea what stakes (I'd guess low) and I don't want to jump the gun before they're ready to go. But I'm determined to make this a reality and so is management so watch this space.

That's promising news. I hope the follow through is there and you guys can get some draw games building soon.

I plan to visit that area this year, would be sweet to have a triple draw or mix game to play while i'm in town.

But can you still play single draw games according to regulators? Lot of good stuff there such as 5 card draw hi which can be played FL/PL/NL and 2-7 lowball NL is a classic game (wsop Main was almost this game instead of nlhe since it's so pure). And I'd guess the regulators won't give you too much leeway but if they're already ok with lowball draw just not the triple part, maybe they'd be open to NL or PL single draw badugi (which is a real game I've heard gets played in Vegas and LA) or even a game like Drawmaha (PLO with a draw and a split pot -- Google it).
