huhu ~$0.5/1 on SwC as part of 11 game mix, no particular reads

I defend bb with 653
2/2
x/c unimproved
2/1
x/c unimproved
2/1
x and facing a river bet unimproved with a K-lo, do we call it?

I would call the river. Frequently your hand is good one or the other way.

Zoo, what pot odds are you getting?

Is there a way that you can think of where you can estimate the odds that the king low is best? Assume first he’s betting his entire range.

Pot odds should be 5.2-1. K-high is good for low against a draw 1 more than 1/3 of the time. Plus the tri is sometimes good. Assuming he is betting anything close to range, it is a call.

I’m not making any conclusions one way or another, instead of just just giving him what is clearly the right answer my goal is to try and get people learning how to think and analyze which is immeasurably more important than a line for one particular hand

my question is how to even come to that conclusion

King High is best low a little more than 33% of time? Easiest way is twodimes.net using single draw 27 calculator. I concur with deuceblocker, he’s correct

I wouldn't make calculations in game. It is sort of feel, but based on knowing the odds and experience. You also don't want to fold that much after the third draw if either side might be good, and particularly both sides as here.

Now if your opponent is betting hard after the first draw and isn't ahead in cards drawn then pats after the 2nd draw, you can pretty well put him on a badugi or better tri and K-high should never be good for low. Therefore in that case a hand like this would be an easy fold. It is hard to snow in badeucy, so there are times when you can easily fold.

They say a made J is a slight favorite against a 1 card draw. However, you usually wouldn't keep the J drawing second HU, as you were drawing smooth, since it is easier to play and get bets or fold with a big hand or nothing. A K has 8 fewer outs than a J. I also played in out with a deck of cards. The K is about 33% if all his Ks beat you and he isn't drawing to a straight or flush.
