OFC Pineapple with 2-7 in the middle. Wheel in the middle or KK+ on top get 14-card fantasyland, both at the same time get 15 cards. Villain is in fantasyland. Hero holds

QQQ8

And is dealt Q66. Discards were cards other than 6KA. Play?

Have played 2-7 just a couple of time. Just very rough estimation

1. 66 on top - What we are fighting for? 666 on top + (15 FL – 14 FL) it’s about 14+8 =22 points with probability about 10% (set in Holdem, deck is shorter here, so probability really is higher, but we say rough) so 2-3 points + 1 point for just 66 for sure

2. Q on bottom- we have here 10 points for sure for quads + with probability of about 2,5% we have AA or KK (recall stud first three cards, one more time deck is shorter, so probability really is higher, on the other side of comparison) on top (8,5 points) and 15 FL

For me it’s for sure 2. Difference is so high that my rather rough estimation is enough.

8 is really 15FL - 14 FL in progressive, I know nothing about it in 2-7, just rough estimation.

We should also know opponent's hand. How likely are trips to win bottom and 6s to win top?

Practically, trips win the bottom or one small pair wins the top a reasonable amount of time, but rarely both at the same time. (Unless they get a fantasyland which can't be set legally, which is a fun aspect of this game let me tell you.) Quads will almost always win bottom, AA or trip sixes still loses top quite a bit.

F&F is right, though, this isn't really close.
